What Skiers Say About Sunshine Village
Sunshine Village attracts skiers and snowboarders of all levels, from beginners to experts, with many reviewers highlighting the extensive terrain spread across three interconnected mountains. The snow quality and powder receive consistent praise, alongside the variety of runs and lack of serious lift queues compared to European or other North American resorts. Reviewers frequently mention the long season, high elevation, and well-groomed pistes. Common criticisms include expensive lift tickets and on-mountain food, flat sections that challenge snowboarders, limited on-mountain accommodation, and the distance from Banff requiring gondola access. Several users note that the resort is family-friendly but lacks a strong après-ski atmosphere on the mountain itself.

Shortish runs and long runs. Not really anything in between.
But super sick
The only drawbacks I see are as a snowboarder there are a few runs with flat spots so if you dont know where they are you run the risk of doing a little mid mtn walking, and with it being so wide open when the wind is howling the visibility is less than zero.
That being said a great hill to spend the day on!
I learnt so much from the experienced ski school staff I highly recommend.
The resort is snow guaranteed and is one of the highest in Canada . Going again from the uk in February
Lookout Mtn and The Strawberry lifts can awkwardly get the flattest light, without it needing to be a storm. Not knowing your way around Lookout Mt can also make you miss a critical turn and you'll end up in the worst flat area of your entire life (run 34 I'm looking at you).
In general to get between one lift and another, it feels like you have to traverse many flat parts and take super specific turns, or even uphills. Runs also start as casual blues to end up in moguled steep black runs. Stuff gets confusing quick.
But, if conditions are good - then all your problems go away. The views on blue bird days where there's a good base are amazing, and powder days make you feel like a child again. It also has the advantage as a boarder of having less icy and moguled runs than Louise, and once you know the layout you can avoid the really bad flat parts.
My favourite is bombing down Wawa and trying out all the side hits & tree runs there.
They have a new chair lift cover that stops the wind at high altitude, great addition.
