What Skiers Say About Sestrière
Sestrière attracts a wide range of skiers from beginners to experts, with reviewers frequently noting its connection to the wider Milky Way ski area including Sauze d'Oulx, Sansicario, and Montgenèvre in France. Intermediate and advanced skiers consistently praise the well-groomed pistes and variety of red runs, though several beginners found limited green runs and steep blues challenging. Value for money is repeatedly highlighted as excellent compared to French resorts, particularly for on-mountain food and lift passes. The main recurring complaint involves wind-related lift closures, especially the gondola link to Sauze d'Oulx, which can trap skiers in Sestrière and create queues. Reviewers consistently mention dated lift infrastructure with slow, older chairlifts, though most agree the piste quality compensates for this.
