Cervinia - Breuil Review Summary
Cervinia attracts intermediate and advanced skiers drawn to high-altitude, snow-sure terrain with wide, well-groomed red runs and access to Zermatt via the lift connection. Reviewers consistently mention reliable snow conditions, quiet pistes, efficient lift systems, and good-value Italian restaurants both on-mountain and in the village. The resort suits families and those seeking relaxed skiing over lively nightlife, with après described as limited but friendly. Wind is frequently cited as an issue, often closing upper lifts and the Zermatt link. Most users note the resort is better suited to skiers than snowboarders due to flat sections, and some mention a lack of challenging terrain on the Italian side alone.

Can go to Zermatt. Don't waste your money getting Zermatt-Cervinia ski pass from outset. Not always possible to go across - weather dependent. Get a Cervinia pass and buy a Zermatt day pass add on on the day
The last run into Cervinia, can be a nightmare at the end of the day - very crowded, very copped up, very mogul-y, variable skills on slope
Otherwise cervinia offers plenty to be getting on with, bar the most gnarly of double blacks.
The highlight is the food. Its Italy at its alpine best, steak, wine and fresh pasta. Huge variety of restaurants in town all offering good quality food in sizeable portions. Often the hosts have great knowledge of the wines on offer and the pride in their work shines through.
Will be coming back for sure.
The ski school instructors were patient, understanding, highly skilled and professional.
To learn to ski in the Alps at the foot of the Matterhorn has to be one of the best experiences of my life..
Top tips
Weekday skiing is much quieter especially over the lunch period from 12 - 2pm. Take an early or late lunch to enjoy almost empty pistes for a few hours.
- it's well worth heading over to the Valtournenche side of the resort. Generally quieter with lovely long wide piste and a couple of great restaurants.
- if Cervinia is windy or overly busy take the Bus to Chamois for the day. It's a small resort, only 5 runs, but stunningly beautiful and always extremely quiet and wind free. Great for off piste too. It's covered by the Cervinia pass.
After heavy snow there was a lot of easily accessible off piste powder terrain for all levels.
The apre was good, plenty of options for food and drink for all options.
All in all a good resort.
Very good value for money in Cervinia town, and even on piste restaurants/bars not bad either.
Apres let the resort down slightly as wasnt a huge atmosphere for it, and night skiing wasnt on offer but we werent too fussed for this so still 5/5!
It's one of the biggest resorts around, even without considering it's connected to the huge Zermatt terrains, or Valtournenche (great mellow pistes).
Lines were groomed daily and conditions were great. This is a glacier, so you can be reasonably sure of the snow and long season.
Cervinia has a great choice of accommodation, both budget hotels a few minutes from the lifts, and ski in/out hotels. Ours provided on-demand shuttle to the village centre.
We'll be certainly coming back.
Equipment hire and sales in their abundance with a huge variety of brands being sold in resort.
This truly is a magnificent resort with one seriously huge benefit, its snow sure. You can ski in this resort for 6 months over the winter and again for two months on the glacier in the summer.
What is there not to love?!? ️
Overall Cervinia is an excellent resort - just hope to get lucky with the wind!
