Great week in Tignes. Loads of snow meant some really challenging conditions but great fun. Loved the vast ski area and the lifts connected everywhere well. Had a lovely chalet which was close to the lifts and made everything easy for us as a family

I really enjoyed my week in Tignes, it was with 4 friends and we had a mixture of abilities, there was runs available for everyone, always quiet lifts and easy to access bars and restaurants on the slopes - would definitely return & recommend

I love tignes been going for a few years the level of skiing is immense with a vast range of runs available and the connections to val disere, not too expensive and the apes is decent but not as good as other places on that respect

The runs and atmosphere are great, especially the speed ski, but it attracts a lot of 18-24 year olds for the Folie Douce, and a lot of the time can be quite a loud and rowdy village, the clubs are okay, quite overpriced (as most are) and they do have a couple hotels that are ski in ski out which is good.

Would never go in the week of between Xmas and NYE again as it is crazy busy, particularly with families. Also beware all inclusive Club Med style places during school holidays if you’re wanting an adults only break. But the ski area itself is fantastic with so many great options to keep you busy for a week or more. The shuttle bus system is a bit of a pain if staying in Les Brev, and wouldn’t recommend Brev in general early in the season as there wasn’t enough fresh snow. The red runs back down there were awful. Would have been good to have a fresh dump but we did have perfect weather for basically the whole week; it’s hard to have it all!

Had a great time in March, good snow cover and runs in the morning, quite full of moguls by late afternoon due to the snow we had! Easy access around the resort on the free buses

Ski Resort Review: Tignes

Tignes is a fantastic ski destination with a lot going for it, especially if you’re looking for a well-maintained and reliable resort. The pistes are clearly very well taken care of, with grooming that keeps conditions consistent and enjoyable throughout the day. Everything feels organized and thoughtfully maintained, which makes skiing there very smooth and stress-free.

One thing that stands out is how peaceful parts of the resort can feel, particularly when you move away from the main lift areas. It’s easy to find quieter runs where you can just enjoy the scenery and settle into a rhythm without too much crowding.

That said, after skiing for a while, some of the runs can start to feel a bit similar. Many of the pistes are wide and open, which is great for cruising but means you don’t often get those more technical, winding trails through trees or narrow natural terrain. If you’re looking for lots of varied, tree-lined runs, it might feel a little repetitive after a while.

Where Tignes really shines is in how accessible it is for beginners and intermediate skiers. The wide slopes make it much less intimidating to practice and improve, and there’s a good range of runs to progress through as you get more confident. Even more experienced skiers can still find variety across the resort, especially when exploring different sectors.

Overall, Tignes is a very solid resort with excellent grooming, a calm atmosphere in many areas, and plenty of space to ski comfortably. It’s particularly well suited to beginners and those who enjoy wide, open pistes with reliable conditions.

Tignes is such a large area, you can return year on year and still find new areas to explore. Amazing bars, Restaurant and staff.

One of the best ski resorts in Europe. Absolutely fabulous lift accessed off piste when the snow is good , and with Tignes sitting at 2000m the snow quality is extremely reliable. Also a great range of Blue and Red runs for confident intermediates.
Not as 'posh" as neighbour Val d'Isere .... more of a skier vibe than influencer. Relaxed and fun, not pretentious.

Great holiday with friends and family great weather highly recommend will be going again hopefully next year

Great ski school and hotels for families. My kids had the best holidays here visited val & tignes a few times now and definitely go back. Love it!

Such a great resort with a great variety of runs! The après ski was so much fun with great music and atmosphere.

Huge amount of skiing but wouldn’t say it’s beginner friendly as most green slopes require doing a blue slope first. Apres is incredible and so is food and bar options. The runs are very chopped up at the end of the day which again, is a beginner or apres goers nightmare. Snow at the beginning of the day is great though and it’s great for intermediate to advanced skiers with lots of options, food and fun.

Great place, Val claret good base food is brilliant and affordable.

The lifts are efficient and smoothly

This is the best ski resort I have ever skied in.
Loads of wide runs to choose from. It was a great resort to improve on and transition onto red runs.
Tignes is the friendliest French ski resort I have been to and we found everyone to be helpful and polite.
Would 100% recommend!

Where I stayed was just brilliant as it was literally a 100 meters walk from the hotel and of the late afternoon it was a ski in which was perfect.There was so much to do and so easy to read and get from place to place especially heading over to Val de sere too which we thought was fantastic good apres on the mountain perfect for beginners to advanced skiers and we will be returning there next year.

Very good resort with a large and varied ski area. With the 4 different parts (Val Claret, Le Lac, Le Bossies and Le Breveart) it gives options for family, couples or group of friends. Brilliant resort with lots of bars and restaurants

This is a resort mostly for advanced skiers. There are plenty of challenging slopes that they can enjoy. Very well organised, good ski lift interconnections, very nice apres-ski on the pistes and few famous bars mainly in Val d’Izer area…
Plenty of snow this year.
