What Skiers Say About Tignes
Tignes attracts primarily intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with reviewers consistently noting the vast ski area, high altitude ensuring reliable snow coverage, and strong connections to Val d'Isère. The après-ski scene, particularly venues like Cocorico's and Folie Douce, receives frequent praise. Multiple users mention well-groomed pistes, efficient lift systems, and minimal queuing outside peak periods. Common criticisms include high prices for food, drink, and lift passes, limited terrain for complete beginners (many greens require blues to access), and a lack of tree-lined runs due to the high altitude. Several reviewers describe the resort architecture as functional rather than picturesque, and conditions can become icy or mogul-heavy by late afternoon.

Food options in tignes can sometimes be limited nevertheless the food we had there cannot be faulted.
Bars in and around the area were top tier.
The slopes are great for all levels of skiers and boarders, even if its your first time, theres also a great amount of choice when it comes to accommodation, with the Val Disere/Tignes ski pass allowing you to ski into so many different areas.
Most recently, we stayed in Val Claret, which had easy access to the slopes (ski in/ski out), some really cool bars, food options and a super easy route back from la Folie Douce.
Would recommend for family trips and trips with friends!
Had bad runs in with some instructors off the slopes saying you should not learn in the alps.
But nost of them were awesome even gave free advices !
Good night life - Cocoricco for apres is worth a visit
Food and drink was fine. Nothing particularly special but lots of options and plenty of apres opportunities if you wanted to partake.
I havent been to many resorts in my time but I would come back to Tignes to help improve my technique in a heartbeat.
A brilliant resort that Id hope to revisit one day!
Worth getting the full area lift pass to take on the steep slopes in Val DIsere and for ease of getting to and from Folie Douce.
Our group was a mix of skiers and snowboarders and the terrain suited both.
We went during January and March and the lift lines were very short, or non existent in some parts.
