I was up in the later months on the season and couldnt of asked for better conditions. Is this more my luck than the actual resort yes. But the way the resort handeld theses conditions was more than perfect. On one of the days the conditions were quite sever so got a free buss journey to the next village over where there gondolas were working which then opens up a lot more of the resort. Sadly I was not expecting the great conditions so I didnt bring my wider skis and I was skiing 50 cm of snow using 85 mm underfoot which is do able as I am quite light but it would have been wonderful to ride my fatter skis. But over all this ski resort is very good. It doesnt have a touristy feel to it which is good if you dont like that. Its a small town so you dont have to worry about getting to the lifts even though there is a free ski buss.

Great for last week of season. Week commencing 7 April. Quite a few pistes left ungroomed and easy access to off piste. Fast modern lifts. Friendly vibe.

Great ski area, across multiple valleys, with a well connected lift system. Varied terrain both above and below the tree line. If you venture into the trees, its different to most areas in the alps as the forests are larch so thinner and more spaced out than elsewhere. In my experience the apres is low key, but I didnt really go looking.

We were there the very last week of the season. A wonderful experIence inspite of the reduced area due to being late season. Great groomed runs, runs designated as I groomed providing challenge and variety, great coaching from the ESF and beautiful after skiing walks. Friendly and helpful staff in all the resort.

Serre Chevalier is brilliant. Huge ski area across for main villages. The evening choice for restaurant is great if you have a car and can drive to the other villages.
Apres is quiet but that is because it is mainly a locals resort. Ski school is great with a few British ski guides and instructors.
Lifts can get busy in the morning but where doesnt?
Overall a brilliant ski resort and off the tourist track.

A Mecca for off piste skiing if thats your thing. Loads of back bowls and tree runs. Very close to La Grave. One lift , no piste slope. Epic

Amazing snow and lots of variety in the slopes. Theres not a-lot in the town but there are many better towns nearby. The food is really nice and lots of options.

Serre Chevalier is a valley of connected villages and the original fortified town Briançon. I had happy memories of Christmas skiing at Villeneuve in the 90s and recently went back with my children for a family week with the UCPA run by Action Outdoors.
We had a great time, plenty of variety on greens, blues and the odd red and black run. The package included full board (plentiful buffet style meals) so we didn't really eat out except for snacks on piste. We had one snowy day and the rest of the week was sunny and hot.
The resort app is great and has a tracker which replays your day, giving 'badges' for achievements such as distance, altitude descent, time, colours of piste. We found it very French, fairly quiet (hardly any lift queues) and very relaxed. We only experienced the entertainment in our UCPA which was great for families.
Villeneuve has a nice local swimming pool, and Monetier-les-bains has an incredible natural hot springs pool complex, definitely worth the cost and short bus ride.
We would go again!

We stayed in Briancon which had great access to lifts and more affordable Accomodation than Serre Chevallier town but it was a bit dead during the evenings. There is a bus service in the valley between the towns so can ski down and go out in the busier Serre Chevallier town and get the bus back
