First time snowboarding. The school instructors were incredible and the posts were so good. I loved every second of it

Great place with a lot of ski area.
But towns are quite quiet with only a few bars. Great ski schools though and friendly atmosphere.

Stayed in Briancon. Good value accommodation. Very quiet night life. Good access to ski area. Ski lockers available

Lucked out with awesome snow fall in Feb. Resort was fairly quiet and plenty of options for off piste. With 250km of runs there was plenty to keep busy for a week. Apres was fairly quiet apart from 1 place called La Grotte with a fairly young crowd. Definitely going back

Great area for off piste and tree skiing. A little limited for on piste terrain. Nice runs but not a great number of them. Nice local restaurants and old village centres

While the lifts are a little older and the ski area a little smaller, this is all reflected in the cost of the resort.

On the cheaper side, we generally found this resort quiet. At times you could have entire runs to yourself, which was bliss after spending last year in a busy resort in Austria.

The runs did tend to the harder side, so start slow and easy. The lifts could get very busy, and due to their age would occasionally stop for no reason. They’re planning some major improvements over the next couple of years, which should improve all of this!

I love Serre Che, have been twice now. Always seems relitively quiet, some decent easy access off-piste after some powder. Huge area to explore. Some pretty cheap accom in Briancon to boot.

Amazing resort. Spent 3 weeks here and return every year with the remarkable guys at Snowed Inn Chalets.

I've been here three times, the snow is good and it has a vast range of piste skiing for all levels.
Typically lifts are quiet and you can get across the full mountain with ease.

There is lots of off piste but Iv never tried it

Big area, chilled, relaxed. Lower slopes sun affected. Big lift network but some bottle necks in key locations. Plenty of off piste options but can get tracked out quick. Cheap accom

A good 4 centre resort offering a good variety of skiing and pretty snow sure being north facing. We enjoyed the spa at Monetier after long days skiing and there were a few nice restaurants and bars as well to be enjoyed. Bus transport between the 4 centres was good and overall we enjoyed our trip.

Seree chavellier is spread across a number of valleys. This provides extensive and varies skiing. From wide groomed pistes to long red, green and blue runs through trees. You can ski across to all the resorts and there a regular buses back to your resort until late evening.
The restaurants are not as expensive as the northern Alps resorts. You also have the option to take food up to the mountain, as there are numerous BBQ stations and plug sockets. We saw a full on BBQ on numerous occasions and one family even brought an electric coffee machine!!!
We went with children and we have been back to the same place now a few times. Recommended for skiers of different levels. When there is good snow, there is lots of off piste to do.

Chantemerle is a fabulous resort. Right at the foot of the slopes with a great range of skiing for all levels. Fantastic restaurants and we loved our hotel too!

Great resort - lots of variety in runs, and we made use of the option to redeem free days in other nearby resorts (own transport required). Town was quiet when we went but were outside peak holiday season so might be more going on in holidays!

Serre Chevalier was a lively resort and one I'd definitely go back to. It wasn't as cheap as some people made out, but certainly had a broad and varied ski zone. My only downside was the weather...it got hot and melted the snow so the lower ski slopes became slushy and made it difficult to return to the village centre at times.

I highly recommend Serre Chevalier! Great skiing resort, very French, not too many other nationalities which is lovely. Very quiet in January as well! No apres but nice atmosphere at the bottom in some bars after skiing and cheap drinks! The weather is always great, very sunny.

Great ski resort, not too big so not busy, no lift queues during week days. Very accessible for beginners. Great mountain restaurant options. It is a small resort so not loads of bars and restaurants for the evenings.
