Méribel Review Summary

Méribel attracts predominantly intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders, many travelling in mixed-ability groups or families. The resort is consistently praised for its central location in the Three Valleys, offering efficient access to Courchevel and Val Thorens via well-maintained lift infrastructure. Reviewers repeatedly mention the extensive ski area, good piste grooming, and lively après-ski scene, particularly at Rond Point and La Folie Douce. However, the high cost of accommodation, food, and drinks is a frequent complaint, with many noting that Méribel is significantly more expensive than resorts in Austria or Italy. Lift queues can be an issue during peak periods, particularly on lower lifts, though most report they move relatively quickly. A few snowboarders mention flat connecting runs as problematic.

A brilliant resort for a family. Access to so much terrain from the centre (meribel valley had enough to ski on for at least a week) but it was also great that there was the option to explore the other two valleys of Courcheval and Val Thorens. Conditions of snow was great too, especially as a beginner/intermediate, there were plenty of groomed runs that never got too difficult even at the end of the day. Going in the first full week of Jan was great, very empty resort so never queues for the lifts, all staff were friendly and plenty of options for apres and food (although I will say everything was very expensive). Would definitely go back!

Nice resort, lots of things to do and some interesting bars on the mountain. Accommodation is varied and can get a good price. With the ski school and the nursery the lifts can get busy but once youre away from the main billiard its easy skiing!

Was a lovely resort, stayed on the main street right next to the ski lift. Plenty of pubs and restaurants for afterwards. Slopes were amazing. Maps where very easy to read and getting about was fairly easy considering how big the area is. Can access courchavel and St thornes which made for epic trails for hours on end

Good place for apres and to get to explore the whole three valleys. Snow quality is pretty poor compared to courcheval and val Thorens, however its not as busy as val thorens.

Great! We went as a large group in a catered chalet. Brilliant resort with so much choice of runs, food/drinks for apres and supermarkets for shopping. The only thing was that the snow wasnt great when we were there so there was ALOT of Ice. So had to go to different resorts higher up. But other than that, amazing and would return.

As a first time skier Meribel was a great intro to the slopes. The option to ski over to Courchevel or VT also made the resort feel bigger than it was. Folie Douce in Meribel also meant a quick blue run down the slopes to finish.

I am an intermediate level skier and I had a great time in Meribel. With the option to also go across to courchevel too, there was a lot of variety. There are great mid day stops for food and drinks; Stunning views and plenty to do for non skiers too. The pistes were well maintained, at the time we went last year there had been very little snow fall, but we still had a great time skiing. Occasionally icy in places, but likely as a result of no snow fall.

Always a great place to go , often a little quieter than other areas of the three valleys .
Loads of little great places to eat and drink.
Not far from meribel is mottaret and there is the Olympics ski park so if you're stuck to do there's ice skating and more activities there too.

Great all round resort. A variety of difficulties in slopes and easy to get over to Courchevel and Val Thorens from the top. A mix of different terrains and aspects with Village and Altiport being more treelined whereas Centre is a bit more open. Good Apres options at Rond Point and Folie Douce. Only slight drawback Id say is the length of the queues first thing in the morning at the Chaudanne but once youre up the mountain its definitely worth it.

Les 3 valles is a great resort, however? The weather could be tricky. Food options are a bit limited in comparison to resprts in Austria and Italy. Apreski is good, however, you better go down from the mountain or stay on Val thrones
