What Skiers Say About Les Arcs

Les Arcs attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with intermediate skiers being particularly well-served. Reviewers consistently mention the vast ski area, especially when linked with La Plagne via the Paradiski pass, offering extensive terrain that prevents boredom over a week. The lift system is generally praised for efficiency and minimal queuing, though some mention increased crowds in recent years due to new all-inclusive hotels. Après-ski receives positive feedback, particularly venues like Folie Douce and L'Arpette in Arc 1800. Several users note good value compared to other French resorts, convenient access via funicular from Bourg-St-Maurice, and reliable snow conditions due to altitude. Common criticisms include limited nightlife and restaurant options in some villages (particularly Arc 2000), crowded narrow sections on certain runs, and an abundance of flat connecting tracks that frustrate snowboarders.

Have visited Les Arcs multiple times and would highly recommend. There is a great variety of slopes for different levels, lots of great stops for restaurants and of course, La Folie Douche!!!!!!!

Really good resort for our large group of mixed abilities. Good range of terrain. Not much nightlife where we stayed (arc 2000) but that didn't bother us at all. Good snow conditions and a large ski area. Accomodation was very near the slopes. Resort is a bit ugly compared to some, but that's pretty standard for high, purpose built ski village. Long transfer time from airport.
Overall would return!

Had a great time in Les Arcs. Went with a huge group so getting spots to eat with 18 together was a bit tough. Some fab red runs of all different difficulty. Tried my first black. It was a great beginner black. Follie in 1800 was sooo fun.

Huge ski area just on the Les Arc pass, plus one day in La Plagne. Always find a quiet run or two particularly if snow good down low. Top tip - out early, back late with some superb on mountain eateries.

Les Arcs was great time, was there with my family for around a week and we did some great skiing there. Although there wasn’t much fresh snow when we were there the groomed runs were amazing. There is lots of events on in the village all the time, lots of places to eat/drink, the lifts were of high standard having the bubbles and there was lots of other activities to do. La Folie Douce was amazing. I loved the zip line down the mountain also. All in all loved this place, would love to come back soon

Les Arcs (we stayed at Arc 1950) is an amazing place with links to other ski resorts. It is great to be able to ski from the locker room to the lifts and it has a good apres scene. The real party is out the resort on the slopes! Don’t miss out on the slope side bars and restaurants, great if you need to stop for lunch or Ouse to enjoy the sunshine and a drink. Be warned, like most ski places in the alps it can be quite pricey!

I had an amazing week solo skiing in les arcs. The ski area is massive and I found lots of places to explore. People were friendly, the lifts were fast and there’s even the option to take the cable car to a new ski area. Would recommend.

We went late in the ski season for a last minute trip so knew the snow wouldn’t be predictable, but lucked out and had a huge storm before arriving. Given the height of the resort we managed to ski in ski out all the way through Easter. Found great self catering options if you’re looking to go on a budget. Mostly stuck to groomed runs which were kept on great condition due to being late season. Fabulous on mountain dining. Would be aware of the trail/ lift maps to make sure you don’t get stuck on one side and can still ski out to your accommodation. Would definitely return

Loved this resort. We went mid March and it was nice and quiet. It’s probably better for intermediate and advanced skiers, la plagne across the valley is probably better for beginners.

There’s a huge range of areas for off piste skiing, some great apres bars and some stunning villages to explore. Les arcs 1950 is one of the most unique villages worth exploring.

A great all rounded resort. Better for intermediate to advance skiers. Lots of variety with wide opens pistes, to narrower tree lined runs and some good off piste too.
Lots of nice bars for evening apres, but not the place to go if you like to party into the early hours, as it’s more of a purest skiing resort.
Food wise, there are lots of nice restaurants on the pistes, and some really good ones on the different levels too. One particular mention is the Enfant Terrible located just above Peisey- Vallandry which does an amazing côte de bœuf. If you like steak, you will not be disappointed! The funicular to and from Bourg St Maurice combined with the free bus service running quite late makes access to all levels very easy. You can jump on a train or coach from Geneva and be in Bourg in 4 hours.

The ski school out of plan piessley was great. Overall a good place for a beginner to learn to ski, although not a huge amount of blue runs, mostly red and black. But amazing scenery skiing through the trees on the runs.
