What Skiers Say About Les Arcs

Les Arcs attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with intermediate skiers being particularly well-served. Reviewers consistently mention the vast ski area, especially when linked with La Plagne via the Paradiski pass, offering extensive terrain that prevents boredom over a week. The lift system is generally praised for efficiency and minimal queuing, though some mention increased crowds in recent years due to new all-inclusive hotels. Après-ski receives positive feedback, particularly venues like Folie Douce and L'Arpette in Arc 1800. Several users note good value compared to other French resorts, convenient access via funicular from Bourg-St-Maurice, and reliable snow conditions due to altitude. Common criticisms include limited nightlife and restaurant options in some villages (particularly Arc 2000), crowded narrow sections on certain runs, and an abundance of flat connecting tracks that frustrate snowboarders.

Great experience, snow wasn't perfect but so many options at different heights on either side of the mountain 1600, 1800, 1950, 2000. Great options to eat at most of the villages and decent apres ski. Had a day trip via the cabriolet to Peisey-Vallandry which was excellent. Very easy to move between sectors and resorts, I'll be back!

Amazing resort, great for families and mixed groups.
We go back to 2000 again and again.
The Savoy will always be the best meeting place and Folie Douce easy to get to.

Our group travelled by car (clothes and all ski equipment) and plane (mainly for ease with the little ones). Good accommodation in 1950 with ski passes and some ski lessons booked in advance. In/out skiing with a great choice of runs. A trip to ‘Folly D’ and eating out in some very nice, helpful eateries. We enjoyed great weather and to top it off- our 3 year old grandson loved his first taste and wants more.

A great ski area, varied levels of skiing for all abilities. Linked to La Plagne to form a huge ski area. If conditions are good, there are lots of tree lined runs lower down, though can get a bit slushy/sparse if it warms up. Great high altitude skiing on the upper slopes.

Les Arc 1950 is a little bit soleless, everything is owned by the company, at the end of the season many shops and restaurants had already closed. I prefer the newer resorts in La Plagne

Les Arc 1800 is an incredible ski resort. Lots of great runs for all levels and great access to the wider Les Arc and La Plagne area. The bars and restaurants are excellent. Apres Ski is superb and family friendly. We had a mixed ability group and everyone had a great time

I used to live here so have spent many seasons skiing here and also working. It is one of my favourite resorts. ADS staff are the best and nightlife is great. More a fan of 1950 and 2000 than the lower level resorts. Skiing is great with a good range of runs of all levels. Connecting cable car to pricey villandy across to the other domaine skiable.

Pros:
- Huge ski area if you get the pass which included la plagne
- Nice to ski through all the different arc villlages
- Good consistent snow
- Distribution of arc villages means that there is limited swarming of lifts first thing in the morning

Cons:
- Depending on where you’re staying, you only get limited time over in La plagne if you want to make the last lift back over to les arcs
- Distributed nature of the villages means that nightlife seems quieter

I love Les Arcs 1800 so much we went there twice in one season l, March and December 2025. Great infrastructure, lifts and teachers. Lots of places to dine and drink out! And if you don’t want to ski there’s plenty of other activities up in the mountains!

Had a great family holiday for very reasonable price here in March 2024.
Central parking at 1600 meant we could ski easily and access the resort with a 6 month old baby in tow.
Pistes were relatively quiet and snow was good considering the warmer weather, really enjoyable pistes for intermediate level skiers and above

Great resort, great staff. Accommodation is quite cramped but great vibes and clean rooms. Slopes are wide with great views, did not wait for a single chairlift. Also very adapted to snowboards compared to some other French alps resorts.
