What Skiers Say About Les Arcs
Les Arcs attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with intermediate skiers being particularly well-served. Reviewers consistently mention the vast ski area, especially when linked with La Plagne via the Paradiski pass, offering extensive terrain that prevents boredom over a week. The lift system is generally praised for efficiency and minimal queuing, though some mention increased crowds in recent years due to new all-inclusive hotels. Après-ski receives positive feedback, particularly venues like Folie Douce and L'Arpette in Arc 1800. Several users note good value compared to other French resorts, convenient access via funicular from Bourg-St-Maurice, and reliable snow conditions due to altitude. Common criticisms include limited nightlife and restaurant options in some villages (particularly Arc 2000), crowded narrow sections on certain runs, and an abundance of flat connecting tracks that frustrate snowboarders.

We go back to 2000 again and again.
The Savoy will always be the best meeting place and Folie Douce easy to get to.
Great to be able to ski over to La Plagne / Champigny en Vanoise for a full day on the slopes
- Huge ski area if you get the pass which included la plagne
- Nice to ski through all the different arc villlages
- Good consistent snow
- Distribution of arc villages means that there is limited swarming of lifts first thing in the morning
Cons:
- Depending on where you’re staying, you only get limited time over in La plagne if you want to make the last lift back over to les arcs
- Distributed nature of the villages means that nightlife seems quieter
Central parking at 1600 meant we could ski easily and access the resort with a 6 month old baby in tow.
Pistes were relatively quiet and snow was good considering the warmer weather, really enjoyable pistes for intermediate level skiers and above
