What Skiers Say About La Plagne

La Plagne attracts primarily beginner and intermediate skiers, with families and mixed-ability groups featuring prominently. Users consistently mention the vast ski area and extensive blue and red runs, plus lift-linked access to Les Arcs via the Paradiski pass. Snow reliability is frequently praised due to high altitude, and the lift system receives positive remarks for efficiency outside peak times. The resort is described as family-friendly and quieter than some alternatives, though multiple reviewers note that nightlife and après options are limited compared to livelier resorts. Queues and crowded pistes are mentioned during school holidays and at certain bottleneck lifts, particularly around Plagne Bellecôte in the afternoon. Food quality on the mountain is generally well-regarded, though prices are noted as high.

La Plagne is a large resort with plenty of piste for all levels of skier. There is enough piste for you to ski for a week without getting bored of running the same slope day in day out and there is a huge variety of different terrains and difficulty levels, with plenty of off piste to go with it. Paired with the spectacular views of Mont Blanc from all across the mountain, it makes for a great ski holiday. The only downsides I noticed were that the main lifts in La Plagne Center do get very busy but it's avoidable if you get out early and make use of the lull at lunch. There's also not much in the way of green runs for beginners but this is compensated by a number of easy blues across the mountain.
The aprés ski is also very good with locations like La Bergerie and Le Bonnet open every day offering good food and live djs.
All in all a great resort for all ability levels.

Arriving at the resort was pretty tough, very little signposting about what level you're on or how to get to the office to collect your keys, the map is a little unclear but eventually with the help of a security guard we found it.

The actual slopes are great however one of my group was a beginner and she found the blue runs from belle plagne to plagne-bellecotte too difficult, it was therefore really tough to explore the area as a beginner.

The snow was nice however due to the mountains being very crowded the runs got very bumpy as the day went on.

One of the party is vegan and the food options in belle plagne were almost nonexistent for them, we pretty much ate pasta at home every day, but there was a great sushi takeaway in aime 2000 that served vegan sushi which was great.

The bus service between bellecotte and plagne centre is really great as well although it is a little crowded at times.

The ESF ski school is really great too the instructor we had was super friendly and really helped us improve a lot, I would recommend them!

The queue times for lifts were abysmal during the day with a super long wait time for every lift in bellecotte which really ate into skiing time.

All in all the resort is pretty good, easy to get around once you're used to it and the slopes are amazing for intermediate skiers.

Great snowfall this year, we had 3+ metres of snow at the top, it snowed heavily one of the afternoons and the piste was fantastic and powder galore the next day.

We stayed in la plagne Aimee which was a good ski in ski out option with ski rental/ski pass/ski school all onsite. Only thing is the village of la plagne centre, belle plagne & plagne bellecote seemed a bit more going on and had nice villages with options to stay in future also ski in ski out.

There are a high number of nice long blue slopes Great for all skiers. Theres werent as many options for reds but did have a few and some blacks. We could ski to Les Arc as well which we did 2 of the days where there were many more reds and a lovely black near Grand Col that gave us more options of slopes. Also la follie douce was good fun and very entertaining in Les arc unfortunately couldnt stay for the party as it takes quite a long time to get back to plagne Aimee from there. We did have la Bergerie la plagnes own version of la follow douce which was good fun also.

I would recommend la plagne as ski resort which good options for various levels of skiers and family friendly. The only negative I would say for beginners in plagne centre and plagne bellecote there are about 7 or 8 runs that all end at these point with 4/5 lift options in different directions and it can be quite chaotic and feels slightly unsafe for new skiers with so many people coming fast from all directions. These parts of the slopes where the iciest areas also.

We went outwith school holidays and it was still quite busy and some lifts were slow moving so I can only imagine during school holiday weeks it would be mayhem and extremely busy. Overall we had a fantastic holiday here and would highly recommend it as a ski resort.

La Plagne is a great place in the alps. The altitude makes for great snow season round with the added benefit of glacier skiing too. There is a wide range of slopes for all abilities as well as extensive off piste options for those powder days. Its vibe is more down to earth than the 3 valleys and whilst it may lack the same aprés atmosphere, La plagne offers much better value for money and its connections to the Les arc Paradiski area make it a great option to consider for your next trip.

I lived in La plagne for 6 months. The runs are lovely and wide meaning that when theyre busy they often dont feel too busy. Loads of variety of runs and most of them are really long too. I would say for a beginner, its a good resort but the runs are graded down because they are wide, etc I found often a blue, I would consider a red etc. loads of runs, connection to les arc vía relevaban and you can ski on the glacier too. Not a lot of tree skiing off piste but lots of off piste areas between slopes. Overall a fantastic large ski area with options for everyone including non skiiers.

Plenty of variety for intermediate level. Large amount of blue slopes with some more challenging parts . Slopes can get quite busy but further away from plagne centre was a lot quieter.

Very beginner friendly, Good mix of runs, quite a large ski area with lots of places to eat on slopes or in the villages. Ski school is good. Freestyle course is good also. Terrain park is not great. Quite limited number of rails but the jumps are good but compared to other resorts its freestyle is not up there. Accommodation is good lots of options on where to stay and free bus that goes up to the slopes every morning.

Skied La Plagne a full season.

Very good place for intermediate skiers, lots of great wide blue runs

Good selection of steep reds and blacks.

Plenty of green and bunny slopes for beginners.

Hot tip: the Roche De Mio gondola is really slow and old, it's quicker to take the blanchets then carrela chair lifts instead

Ive visited this resort twice now and Im more than happy each time, endless runs to choose from meaning each time I go I always have something new to try, equally regardless of your ability there is hundreds of options for you to choose from. Also having visited during the school holidays I was expecting it to be much busier than it was, I think the expanse of the resort really helps to spread everyone out. Another resort you will definitely not regret visiting

La Plagne is huge! Thats even before you combine it with Les Arcs to from the Paradiski. There is so much variety with glaciers up high and tree lined runs down to Montalbert. Ive snowboarded all over and I think its the best lift system Ive come across. Mostly big, fast, efficient lifts which keeps the queue size down. Such a bonus to be able to get the Vanoise Express over to Les Arcs too. Fantastic views over the valley in the glass bottom cable car and another ski area just as huge and well connected. Top tip - start making your way home to LP at least half hour before you think you should leave. You could get stuck with an enormous taxi ride if you dont make it back in time. Mainly I loved the variety in LP - its not really fair to call it one resort as its made up of lots of different villages all with their own personality and chsrm. Personally I love Plagne Bellecôte. Right in the heart of the LP map and its a fantastic springboard out in any direction. Ive eaten and drank in better places but there is plenty on offer. Will definitely going back

Large ski area with lovely cruisey runs. Mix of both well groomed pistes and mogul fields. Scenic tree lined runs in lower areas. Lifts could be modernised, not terrible but some very long slower lifts. Accomodation lots of ski in/ski out options which is ideal. Great food and drinks on the mountain. Will definitely visit again in the future.
