What Skiers Say About La Plagne

La Plagne attracts primarily beginner and intermediate skiers, with families and mixed-ability groups featuring prominently. Users consistently mention the vast ski area and extensive blue and red runs, plus lift-linked access to Les Arcs via the Paradiski pass. Snow reliability is frequently praised due to high altitude, and the lift system receives positive remarks for efficiency outside peak times. The resort is described as family-friendly and quieter than some alternatives, though multiple reviewers note that nightlife and après options are limited compared to livelier resorts. Queues and crowded pistes are mentioned during school holidays and at certain bottleneck lifts, particularly around Plagne Bellecôte in the afternoon. Food quality on the mountain is generally well-regarded, though prices are noted as high.

Was a quite resort, however this could be due to visiting at the end of the season,

very quite mornings, chair lifts was quick and easy to access.
après was located all over the resort and made for good fun.

would recommend if you a beginner, or just want a chilled holiday which is not expensive.

Been here with the family a few times, and with beginners. Plenty of expanse to explore. Runs into the center can get quiet congested. The free bus is really effective and really useful to go to the tobogganing slope in plagne center with the kids. Overall, great resort. Have stayed in plagne 1800 each time, which is fine, but not quite as convenient as if you stayed higher up possibly - sort of have to take a lift first to get anywhere from there

Great resort with a wide range of options for all levels.

Well suited for families and first time skiiers, with lots of wide blue runs. A bit lacking in expert terrain but there are few ungroomed gems to be found.

While not the best, La Plagne does have some worthwhile ski tours and backcountry routes such as Hidden Valley and various routes off the glacier.

As it is a large resort in France, the apres is top notch. La Bergerie wednesdays is the main attraction where they do giveaways from t-shirts to skis!

I first went to La plange in 2023 and it was my very first skiing holiday and it didnt disappoint. There are a variety of different run levels and all different kinds. This includes: Multiple snow parks, multiple trail runs, ranges of altitudes and overall they are a very pleasant experience to ski. Since 2023 I have visited La plagne multiple times and I wouldnt hesitate to return in the next season.

Absolutely love La Plagne. We stay at BELLE Plagne, but have also enjoyed Plagne 1800, Plagne Village. Kids know where they ate around the resort and plenty for the while family.

Excellent option for all levels and those who really want to ski. Not great for apres ski though.
Lifts are well located and you have many options .
Not a lot of parking and not very accessible by car (but you can still make it)

Went here on a uni ski trip. Was an absolute blast, we were away from families so did t have to worry about disturbing them so that was a good setup. The apres ski at Le Bonet was open until 7pm meaning you could get a full day on the slopes and still make it to apres. Some of the accomodation is very dated, some is just dated and then theres a bit that is isnt. Some of the lifts are dated and theres areas that require the use of drag lifts to get between valleys but these are walkable as its not too far. A gondola also runs between belle plange and plagne bellecote until 10pm to allow you to eat or drink up there.

Stayed in the plan for one week stayed in Bell plan which is slightly up a bit from plan centre. Double loads of really nice groomed pistes. Loads of places to go out for eating and drinking! You must try the local beer there its really good!
The lifts were generally not very packed. Ski school was amazing and had some really great instructors. It was my first ski holiday and thoroughly enjoyed it and will go back every year if I had a choice!

Great skiing. Some pistes get quite busy but not overly so

The little villages are all self contained in that they have a couple of bars and eating places but you do need to book. Also takeaway in France isnt instant. Expect to order a pizza and collect in two hours

The main centre has more options but not as much variety as youd think

I have had the misfortune to use the medical facilities in La Plagne and can only say they are excellent

La Plagne is a great resort suited to families. Ive been many times with my family, always staying in Belle Plagne the best village to stay in as far as Im concerned.

Love the outdoor swimming pool in Bellecote, great place to relax after a hard days skiing. A huge area to ski and something for everyone. Would highly recommend.

We stayed in Aime 2000 which offers great ski in ski out options and is definitely on the cheaper side for accommodation.

An easy ski down to Plagne Centre in the morning to get various gondolas up the mountain. The ski area of La Plagne is so big and so varied that there is something for everyone. Be sure to check the webcams while youre there as youll often find that parts of the resort are empty so you can go and get the slopes to yourself.

Another advantage of La plagne is the link with Les Arc and the Paradiski pass. Linking the two resorts to give you even more slopes to choose from. The cable car linking the resorts is often busy and we waited around 30 minutes to use it. Worth noting that because we stayed in Aime 2000 the Les Arc link was the opposite side of the resort and required a lot of skiing to just reach the link. Something to bare in mind when you are heading home.

La plagne for me has it all. Plenty of easy level abs intermediate pistes along with some challenging ones and so much great off piste if you know where to go. As a Seasonnaires Ive worked there for 14 seasons and still find new places to go.
Its well priced and very friendly too.

La Plagne has a number of smaller resorts that make up the whole area. Good lift linkage and wide range of runs. Run down through Bellepagne can't be busy and hard work by end of day. Some beautiful runs up higher and lovely piste down to Plagne centre. Most enjoyed with teens rather than younger good skiers.
Some great fast lifts in Plagne Belle and good bus routes linking all areas.

Fantastic resort that has something brilliant for everyone. Huge range of slopes to tackle and youd struggle to do them all in one week. Access to Les Arcs resort is easy, doubling your ski area. Locals are friendly, restaurants and bars are traditional and great for a few drinks. The Apres is excellent! Great atmosphere, music and drinks. The Apres seems to improve year on year bringing a younger demographic which in turn makes the resort so much better. Paradiski invest so much in lifts, runs and upkeep of the resort it makes it well worth the money. Love it!

Very family friendly resort. Our youngest is too young for ski school and was able to attend the local nursery.
Accommodation in Plagne Centre is expensive by comparison to other parts of the resort (but not prohibitively so), however it means all amenities are on your door step; ski school, nursery, shops, restaurants, lifts etc!
Being ski in ski out was very handy with the age our kids are at!
The actual skiing is great, some lovely runs and great to have access to Les Arcs as well!

Huge variety of runs runs for all levels. Numerous mountain villages all connected by amazing lifts and runs. Great public transport which is free between villages. Been skiing here for over 20 years and it gets better and better. New lift Live3000 is incredible allowing access to high runs. La Plagne is connected to Les Arcs so huge area to ski in. Accommodation caters for all budgets. Good hotels, apartments and chalets. Restaurants on mountain and villages are all of a high standard. Tourism is in their blood and they get that the visitor is important. Buy lift passes prior to going for the best deals. Opening an online account is easy. If going for more than three weeks buy a season ticket.

I skied La Plagne with my daughter in March 2022. We both loved it. Big resort with good lift network, lots of different runs making a good variety of skiing, and fun link to Les Arcs. We ski hard (up to 100km a day) and we never got bored and I dont think we skied the entire area. It never felt crowded on the pistes, but we were outside school holidays.
We stayed in a self catering flat, there was a well stocked supermarket and for lunch wed either ski down to a supermarket and pick up a baguette to eat up the mountain or stop at a snack bar. So costs can be kept down.
We would definitely ski La Plagne again, its pretty snow sure as its quite high and just had a nice relaxed vibe about it. Compared to other big ski areas it seemed pretty good value for money.
