What Skiers Say About La Plagne
La Plagne attracts primarily beginner and intermediate skiers, with families and mixed-ability groups featuring prominently. Users consistently mention the vast ski area and extensive blue and red runs, plus lift-linked access to Les Arcs via the Paradiski pass. Snow reliability is frequently praised due to high altitude, and the lift system receives positive remarks for efficiency outside peak times. The resort is described as family-friendly and quieter than some alternatives, though multiple reviewers note that nightlife and après options are limited compared to livelier resorts. Queues and crowded pistes are mentioned during school holidays and at certain bottleneck lifts, particularly around Plagne Bellecôte in the afternoon. Food quality on the mountain is generally well-regarded, though prices are noted as high.

very quite mornings, chair lifts was quick and easy to access.
après was located all over the resort and made for good fun.
would recommend if you a beginner, or just want a chilled holiday which is not expensive.
Well suited for families and first time skiiers, with lots of wide blue runs. A bit lacking in expert terrain but there are few ungroomed gems to be found.
While not the best, La Plagne does have some worthwhile ski tours and backcountry routes such as Hidden Valley and various routes off the glacier.
As it is a large resort in France, the apres is top notch. La Bergerie wednesdays is the main attraction where they do giveaways from t-shirts to skis!
Lifts are well located and you have many options .
Not a lot of parking and not very accessible by car (but you can still make it)
The lifts were generally not very packed. Ski school was amazing and had some really great instructors. It was my first ski holiday and thoroughly enjoyed it and will go back every year if I had a choice!
The little villages are all self contained in that they have a couple of bars and eating places but you do need to book. Also takeaway in France isnt instant. Expect to order a pizza and collect in two hours
The main centre has more options but not as much variety as youd think
I have had the misfortune to use the medical facilities in La Plagne and can only say they are excellent
Love the outdoor swimming pool in Bellecote, great place to relax after a hard days skiing. A huge area to ski and something for everyone. Would highly recommend.
An easy ski down to Plagne Centre in the morning to get various gondolas up the mountain. The ski area of La Plagne is so big and so varied that there is something for everyone. Be sure to check the webcams while youre there as youll often find that parts of the resort are empty so you can go and get the slopes to yourself.
Another advantage of La plagne is the link with Les Arc and the Paradiski pass. Linking the two resorts to give you even more slopes to choose from. The cable car linking the resorts is often busy and we waited around 30 minutes to use it. Worth noting that because we stayed in Aime 2000 the Les Arc link was the opposite side of the resort and required a lot of skiing to just reach the link. Something to bare in mind when you are heading home.
Its well priced and very friendly too.
Some great fast lifts in Plagne Belle and good bus routes linking all areas.
Accommodation in Plagne Centre is expensive by comparison to other parts of the resort (but not prohibitively so), however it means all amenities are on your door step; ski school, nursery, shops, restaurants, lifts etc!
Being ski in ski out was very handy with the age our kids are at!
The actual skiing is great, some lovely runs and great to have access to Les Arcs as well!
We stayed in a self catering flat, there was a well stocked supermarket and for lunch wed either ski down to a supermarket and pick up a baguette to eat up the mountain or stop at a snack bar. So costs can be kept down.
We would definitely ski La Plagne again, its pretty snow sure as its quite high and just had a nice relaxed vibe about it. Compared to other big ski areas it seemed pretty good value for money.
