What Skiers Say About La Plagne

La Plagne attracts primarily beginner and intermediate skiers, with families and mixed-ability groups featuring prominently. Users consistently mention the vast ski area and extensive blue and red runs, plus lift-linked access to Les Arcs via the Paradiski pass. Snow reliability is frequently praised due to high altitude, and the lift system receives positive remarks for efficiency outside peak times. The resort is described as family-friendly and quieter than some alternatives, though multiple reviewers note that nightlife and aprรจs options are limited compared to livelier resorts. Queues and crowded pistes are mentioned during school holidays and at certain bottleneck lifts, particularly around Plagne Bellecรดte in the afternoon. Food quality on the mountain is generally well-regarded, though prices are noted as high.

Chose this resort for a weeks skiing hoping itd be appropriate for my partner with only 2 previous weeks skiing experience and it did not disappoint - she had great morning lessons and then we enjoyed top to bottom skiing all week. Massive amount of pisted terrain had us feeling like there was new ground to cover daily, and excellent variety lots of small towns for accommodation options, very well linked by lifts. Will definitely be back!

Enjoyed it thoroughly, even when icy could always find an area worth boarding on. Some decent nightlife too for an old boy who likes live music. Plenty of accomodation types available. Quite a few with ski in ski out. Car park good and underground.

La Plagne is a well organised resort which we have found suited to families. There is a good app which is updated on time and the lift status is generally accurate with well functioning lifts and no inappropriate closures.
The resort has a good selection of cafes and bars but the Apres is not as lively as some other resorts. This makes it better suited to families.
The road clearance is good in the villages and the shops provide a range of groceries and there are a couple of pharmacies and a good medical center which we used when our daughter twisted her knee. There are some good other activities such as paragliding, husky sledding and rental for cross country/ snow shoes. The connection to Plagne centre is made easier by the telebus.
The altitude of the resort and excellent piste grooming has made for several good holidays even in the first and last weeks of the season.
Overall I would totally recommend this as a snowsure and well maintained resort with good runs and a great location for a family ski holiday.

Massive ski area with a wide range of slopes. The lift network is probably the best in the world and queues are not ever too long. Plenty of runs to keep you busy for a couple of weeks. Good choice of accommodation across the number of villages means you can select either family friendly or a bit more boisterous if you prefer. We use Lime ski school who are English speaking and were fantastic for our kids the glacier at the top of the resort offers quiet skiing and amazing views. Having skied in many different countries, La Plagne has it all.

Experienced lessons as I was a beginner skier and the instructors were great! Accommodation is sufficient with a spa shop nearby for food shopping. Various places to eat that are of a high quality.

This was my first time skiing in France, and first time in La Plagne. I had a fab time. It does get busy but that did help with my skiing as I'm still learning and wanting to improve.
The runs are well looked after, we often have our dinner by the window so we can watch the snow groomers most evenings.
We used the app to help plan our runs, and see how busy chairlifts and runs are.
There's so many options for accommodation. We stayed in a ski in/out hotel, and we loved it.
Am planning on coming back very soon.

A great resort with a brilliant range of runs, making it fun for all levels of skiers/snowboarders, whether its a family holiday, couples break or friend group. Beautiful villages throughout the resort with a great selection of bars and restaurants. Linked with Les Arcs which offers loads more fantastic runs. Highly recommend

We really enjoy the La plagne/ Les arcs area with reasonably priced accommodation for self catering. There is good off piste for my children to practise jumps etc.
the food choice for lunch is not great and quality of food disappointing.
You need a week there as the transfer from Geneva is 2 1/2 hours or 3 from Turin.

La Plange was my second ski holiday. I found the ski school hard to take part in because it was a large group and felt the ski instructor didn't really pay attention to each individual until some people dropped out of the school. There were some icy patches on some runs but overall the views were out standing. We had plenty of snow and we weren't short of food places to eat out at. This is more of a family holiday area, but there's not a lot of green runs for beginners.

I stayed at La Plagne 1800 ( Hotel Rhododendrens ) which was well connected by ski lift to the wider resort and snow fields , but not well linked to the higher levels at La Plagne for walking at night. Remember to book your departure bus well in advance and be patient when leaving the resort as the buses are often very busy and sometimes late.

One of my favourites resorts, have been more than 10 times. It's very easy to navigate, snow-sure due to the altitude & good snow making coverage. Also have the link to Les Arcs so a massive Ski area if you want to get the miles in.
The pistes are ideal for intermediates with lots of blues & reds, and some easy off piste options when you're first starting out. Also lots of back country options for the more advanced riders.
Terrain parks aren't the best, and you're mainly above the tree line so not many options in this area.
Have taken my son the last few years & Oxygene Ski school have been amazing - small groups & great instructors, so his progression has been fantastic.
Not the liveliest for apres - there are a few good places - but as a family resort it's perfect. So good I'm going back again at Easter this year.
