What Skiers Say About La Plagne

La Plagne attracts primarily beginner and intermediate skiers, with families and mixed-ability groups featuring prominently. Users consistently mention the vast ski area and extensive blue and red runs, plus lift-linked access to Les Arcs via the Paradiski pass. Snow reliability is frequently praised due to high altitude, and the lift system receives positive remarks for efficiency outside peak times. The resort is described as family-friendly and quieter than some alternatives, though multiple reviewers note that nightlife and après options are limited compared to livelier resorts. Queues and crowded pistes are mentioned during school holidays and at certain bottleneck lifts, particularly around Plagne Bellecôte in the afternoon. Food quality on the mountain is generally well-regarded, though prices are noted as high.

Wonderful first ski holiday with my other half (my 2nd time skiing, his 1st), lots of the blue runs are really blue/red though. I would recommend overall. Really friendly and surprisingly quiet.

La Plagne is a great, family-friendly resort. Our family opted for a catered chalet and had an amazing experience; we loved not having to think about planning meals or spending a lot by going out all the time.

The slopes were fun and well-groomed, but extremely busy. This of course is affected by the time of year you visit, but at times the wait for lifts was well over 40 minutes and this was often exacerbated by large groups of beginners stopping the lifts (not complaining - we all have to start somewhere :) )

Would go back with family at a different time of year, but would choose a different resort if visiting with friends.

We stayed in a catered chalet and enjoyed lunches in various restaurants. We loved skiing through the trees and up to other resorts. Great for family who can all ski fairly well and board riders !

Stayed in Bellcote in budget accommodation which was perfectly adequate but basic. Huge number of blue slopes which suite our party, slopes were well groomed, and mostly quiet, we went in march. We didnt have the full pass but had plenty of variety of terrain for a week. Would definitely return. Report well suited to intermediates. Off piste looked amazing.

Wide open spaces, great up the mountain, forest runs home at the end of the day can be busy, and in warmer weather very soft, linked with Les Arcs adds another dimension.

La plagne is slightly on the smaller scale of resorts, however you dont get bored of the valley too quickly as the runs are well kept. Apres is not really apparent with only a couple of bars to choose from and most choose to take their fun to restaurants which are plenty. Live bands are around in the evening for those wanting to stay out late. Accomodation is elite however, loads of ski in /out options and as not a primary resort it doesnt fill up or feel as crowded as Val D/Tignes

Was in La Plagne February 23 staying in Champagny-en-Vanoise. Wasn't too much snow in the area we stayed and the slope down to us was closed for the entire trip unfortunately. However, once we took the bubble lift up the slope conditions were excellent. Large range of slopes and levels, long cruisy blues to steep mogul filled blacks, good for any level of skiers. Lines for lifts were okay, can get very busy at the end of the day and after lunchtime. A bit expensive for food on the slopes and apres bars.
Overall would definitely recommend this resort.

The green and blue runs are a nice and slow one to get into if its your first time. Apres ski is great and has a great atmosphere around it. Accommodation was good value for money and includes all the necessities.

I went during february, snow was okay. Towards the end of my trip, the slopes became icy. However the range of blue and red runs for beginners to intermediate skiers was exceptional. Beautiful views and amazing food. However lift queues were large and I was waiting for a long time. Overall a good ski resort, I highly recommend

A nice resort, making up part of a huge ski area, however overall I found it slightly disappointed. The infrastructure ensures riders are all funnelled into the same locations making even supposedly quiet periods feel busy. The facilities are as you would expect in a french resort, excellent but the runs and out of bounds isn't particularly exciting.
