Took a group of 30 students to La Plagne a week before half-term in February. We stayed in Plagne 1800, which was a good base for exploring the mountain. The snow was well prepared, if rather icy, especially on the run home where the blue and red runs had very icy sections which caused some problems for less confident skiers.
The glacier was not open on about half the days we were there, but when it was the snow was very good and runs not crowded.
There is so much accommodation on offer at La Plagne, which is probably why it was a lot busier than La Thuile in the same week the year before.
I would consider this resort a good one for beginners and intermediates, with a massive choice of good blue and red runs. There is less here to challenge the expert skiers on Piste. Off-piste, I cannot comment on, as the snow was not conducive.
I really recommend having a go on the Olympic Bob-Sleigh Run and also the tobogganing down the mountain from Belle Plagne (setting off at sunset with torches strapped to our heads).
All-in-all, we enjoyed our trip to La Plagne, and it is good for school trips, family holidays with runs for all. For the expert skiers, I recommend heading across the valley to Les Arcs for the day, as there is more for them there.
I would not come here in the school holidays, as it must be ram packed.
A four star resort for me in the snow we had, and maybe five in the off-season.

Great resort for off-piste if you have a guide. There are plenty of blues and reds to cruise around on but best skiing is with a guide off-piste. Massive ski area which is connected to Les Arcs.

Spent a week here with a local instructor exploring the off-piste. There are some great routes, the North Face of the Bellecote being a highlight. Lots of options though, we were able to find something to ski - trees, open faces, couloirs etc. to suit the changing conditions.

The original custom ski resort, great for beginners and wide wide pistes. Very family friendly, price wise good for France..
If you dont mind the dated design and aging Accomodation, well worth it as a destination for families especially with small members.

Incredibly good resort for beginners/intermediates and families. The ski area is vast and offers a huge mix of blues/reds in a variety of settings from the glacier to the treeline. It's a perfect resort for groups of mixed ability, as practically every lift has a blue option meaning you aren't consigned to one part of the mountain and there's no need to plan too much in advance. You can also upgrade to a Paradiski pass to access Les Arcs in the (unlikely) event you get bored. One notable upside of the accessability is that the lift lines are generally pretty quick, even on the 'main' runs at peak times. The villages themselves aren't the prettiest - concrete blocks tend to dominate - but that's the tradeoff for a resort that's on the budget-friendly end. Food options are also generally reasonably priced mountain fare in functional environments rather than anything spectacular. Overall, if you're looking for a resort that offers a lot of really good skiing for beginners/intermediates at a very affordable price, you'll struggle to find a better option than La Plagne.

La Plagne is a fantastic choice for skiers of all levels, with 425 km of pistes and a huge 1,850m vertical drop. Beginners will love the wide, cruisy slopes, while more experienced skiers can dive into some great off-piste areas.
The resort is made up of multiple villages, many offering ski-in, ski-out access. While some of the architecture is a bit dated, recent improvements have made the resort more modern and comfortable. Its also super family-friendly, with excellent ski schools and beginner zones.
If you're after wild après-ski, this might not be the place for you, and lifts can get busy at peak times. But if youre looking for great skiing, convenience, and a relaxed vibe, La Plagne is hard to beat!

La Plagne is a great area with a lot of skiing for all levels and as it is a high resort it usually has some good skiing most of the time. Being a large area there is usually space for everyone. There is a a lot of restaurants ( from a snack shack to high end restaurants) and bars for the Apres ski.
I would say it has something for everyone, whatever youre budget is.

Great resort, ski in ski out accomodations in most areas. Plenty of food and drink options in la plagne centre which were all awesome. Plenty of runs a good range of blue and reds, lots of un piested Blacks which were a bit gnarly but the piested runs were fantastic

big resort with plenty of skiing. Links between different areas are not as good as some resorts could do with some new fast chair lifts and some longer lifts out of les couches. Good link to les Arc gives a lot more skiing

Lots of different types of slopes to choose from, plenty of long easy slopes and some demanding slopes. Night life is plentiful from loud bars to quiet restaurants, something for everyone. Getting around is easy with the free bus.

A great resort with access to a huge ski area. The town itself is quiet and family friendly, but still with plenty of options of things to do like bowling, eating out, bars and quizzes.

La Plagne was the first resort I visited as a beginner snowboarder. The lessons were fantastic and I was zooming around in no time, with a good level of challenging difficulties for beginner to advanced riders. Facilities are nice, the food is amazing, especially the cheese and wine shop! Good fun placed for families and non-families, queues werent mega long and all in all an enjoyable and memorable experience.
