What Skiers Say About La Plagne

La Plagne attracts primarily beginner and intermediate skiers, with families and mixed-ability groups featuring prominently. Users consistently mention the vast ski area and extensive blue and red runs, plus lift-linked access to Les Arcs via the Paradiski pass. Snow reliability is frequently praised due to high altitude, and the lift system receives positive remarks for efficiency outside peak times. The resort is described as family-friendly and quieter than some alternatives, though multiple reviewers note that nightlife and après options are limited compared to livelier resorts. Queues and crowded pistes are mentioned during school holidays and at certain bottleneck lifts, particularly around Plagne Bellecôte in the afternoon. Food quality on the mountain is generally well-regarded, though prices are noted as high.

We stayed in Belle Plagne over Christmas week, and this was our third time visiting the area.
The skiing in the area is superb, especially with access to Les Arc. A large variety of runs so great for mixed ability groups. an plenty of skiing without getting bored.
Being snow-sure at Christmas is an extremely important part of our resort choice. Even though snowfall wasn’t amazing this year, the resort did a great job keeping the pistes well maintained, with minimal ice. The lift system is one of the biggest positives, we rarely experienced any lengthy queues.
Belle Plagne is very family friendly and has a genuinely great vibe. It feels safe, easy to get around, and there’s a nice atmosphere in the village.
We stayed at Résidence Les Balcons de Belle Plagne (4* & Spa).
It was clean, functional, and did the job well. It’s not luxury in terms of style, but it’s comfortable and practical, ideal if you’re mostly out on the slopes.
The food in hotel was acceptable, but nothing special. On the slopes and generally in the resort its superb with great variety.
Overall, Le Playne is an excellent choice for a Christmas ski trip. We’ve been three times, and we’d definitely return again!

We stayed in a 12 person chalet in La Plagne 1800, the views were stunning, facilities in the town were very good. Great lifts up into the main ski area. Blue runs were definitely more difficult that other ski areas such as Val Thorens. The piste was very well groomed and there are some awesome off piste sections under the Colarado Lift. The food options are endless with tonnes of great choices for all budgets. I am looking forward to going back when they have a good snow dump.

We stayed in La Plagne for some Easter Skiing with family and friends in an apartment in Belle Plagne. It could not have been more ski in/ski out with doors that litterally opened onto the slopes.

The ski area is large and catered for us all, from beginner to advancing intermediates. There were a lot of unique things like the tunnel, a cool fun slope and snow park. The highlight was the slalom run to channel my olympic spirit complete with crowd noises and footage shared to the app at the end.

Snow was good from the resort level up. Towards the lower parts of the ski map it was more sparse but even in April the vast majority of runs were open.

Great resort, lots to see and do, definitely recommend.

Kids loved the buffalo parks and the ski cross fun park, the disco tunnel, an the hidden forest trolls (Lutins)
Huge area with so much to explore. Great high up on the glacier and plenty of fun an adventure.

MMV at 2000 was awesome but don’t seem to find it this year.

Considering returning to belle plagne to be a bit more central.

An excellent holiday with great snow conditions! The lift system in La Plagne struggles to serve the number of people the resort can hold however - serious bottlenecks build at the some of the main lifts at village level and there aren’t many half way stations to help you stay high. The resort is a beginner to intermediates dream with tons of blue runs. Some blues are quite challenging in fact, and could be deemed reds. The apres ski at La Bergerie above Plagne solely, and Le Bonnet in Plagne Bellecôte are excellent fun. Access to Les Arcs on the full Paradiski pass is a must - it’s a better ski area over the IMO. I recommend La Plagne but it can get busy.

Been there a few times, great runs with amazing views, my friend who had never skied had lessons an was able to do blues and some reds with confidence by the end of the week, ski school instructor definitely knew what he was doing, great weather and conditions was top tier, as well as the hotel where we stayed (MMV) being very nice, would 100% recommend to all levels

Really enjoyed my trip, for beginner level skiers there’s lots of appropriate slopes (lots of blues at various difficulties) and my friends at a more intermediate level were able to find appropriate reds and blacks too. The night life was pretty poor, there was one or two bars in La Plagne and Igloo Igloo bar was rubbish I would avoid (expensive drinks, bad music and horrible management). A couple of good spots for Apres but maybe more family friendly vibe.

Loads of accommodation options, all well serviced with lifts. Plenty of bars and restaurants with lifts staying open late to help you get around. Piste choices were great especially blue and red slopes. Second time here so must have liked it.

You need to be in the resort’s high altitude centres to really have the best choice of apres ski venues. The middle and lower centres have very limited bar and restaurants available.

Great resort. Large amount piste area to mix up where you go every day. Including links to other areas / resorts for different restaurants etc. lots of different height options for accommodation, to balance cost and access. Would definitely go back.

La Plagne is one of the quieter resorts we have been to. However, it still provided us with exceptional skiing and amazing catering at our chalet. Honestly couldn’t fault it. The only thing is that the chalets cold be made into ski in-ski out, which would improve their ratings too.

Went a little too early in the season in my opinion, slopes icy and many blacks closed due to lack of snow, lifts were quick and easy to access, good for all levels and families, beautiful area in general

Excellent family resort and snow sure especially if you stay in Belle Plagne which is all ski in and out. Restaurants on mountain are plentiful and good. However a bit average in the village.

La Plagne - Massive ski area and connects Les Arcs. Snow sure as resort at 2000m. Eating out / Apres not the best but improving as restaurants realising they have a market. Pretty French. Recommended
