What Skiers Say About La Plagne

La Plagne attracts primarily beginner and intermediate skiers, with families and mixed-ability groups featuring prominently. Users consistently mention the vast ski area and extensive blue and red runs, plus lift-linked access to Les Arcs via the Paradiski pass. Snow reliability is frequently praised due to high altitude, and the lift system receives positive remarks for efficiency outside peak times. The resort is described as family-friendly and quieter than some alternatives, though multiple reviewers note that nightlife and après options are limited compared to livelier resorts. Queues and crowded pistes are mentioned during school holidays and at certain bottleneck lifts, particularly around Plagne Bellecôte in the afternoon. Food quality on the mountain is generally well-regarded, though prices are noted as high.

Perfect for any level of ability, third time at the resort and been great every time
There hadn’t been snow for about two months when we arrived and pistes were still great, the last few days had crazy heavy snow but the management was excellent

I visited La Plagne in March 2026 and had a really great time. The snow was still in good condition, especially higher up, and the pistes were well looked after. Mornings were best for skiing, with nice crisp runs, and it got a bit softer in the afternoon which was actually quite enjoyable.

There’s loads of variety, which I liked. Some easy, wide runs for cruising and also some more challenging areas if you want them. It didn’t feel too crowded either, which made a big difference compared to busier times of the season.

The weather was also a big plus. It was nice to stop for a drink and sit outside without freezing.
I’d definitely recommend La Plagne in March. It felt like a good mix of decent snow, fewer crowds, and better weather.

La Plagne is a great family Ski resort with a huge amount of runs! The lift queues are what lets it down as sometime can queue for over 20mins to get on a lift in February half term.

Super Family friendly ski trip. We stayed in la plagne Center and the kids and I did morning lessons with oxygenes ski school. We had a lovely dump of snow making it an even better experience.

Excellent for intermediate skiers. Loads of blue runs and decent red runs too. Not many greens or blacks but that suited me. Easy access to les arcs too.

I spent a season out there, great piste. Lots to offer for all levels. Accommodation from what I seen is varied from budget to 5 star, so suits all. Towards the end of season was my favourite great for riding the snowparks with the sun out to the point you could be lying down on a sun bed at the top of the mountain with a beer...love to go back

Lovely family resort. We visited 3-4 times year after year as the place has everything we wanted for a large group. We went over the Christmas periods and had a great time, fresh snow was always abundant and links well with neighbouring resorts. Lifts right on the doorstep too so hardly any walking or need for bus rides.

La plagne is a beautiful area, rolling slopes and ski lifts all over the place. Skiing for all levels, off piste activities too. The skiing app for here is also really good, with tracking and very readable GPS maps.

This was my first ever snoboard trip and it was amazing, the slopes where really nice and beginner freindly, they did have some scary steep parts for a new boarder like me but after a couple days they became not very intimdating, i would highly reccomend this resort to anyone of any level.

La Plagne is a really inclusive resort. There are so many Piste options over an enormous area, so options for everyone. We went as a mixed ability group, we all loved it, and will be returning next year.

This was my first time staying at a ski in ski out resort, and it was amazing! The accomodation was cozy, we had beautiful views and the slopes were soooo beginner friendly with heaps of blue runs to choose from + options for my friends who were more experienced and wanted to explore. It was also really affordable. I’d absolutely recommend La Plagne, especially for those travelling with beginners or those atill building confidence. 1:1 lessons were also really affordable! And I felt like there were ample food and apres choices! Also love the free gondola to the town centre and back that runs until almost midnight, this was perfect for our friend who couldn’t ski due to injury but had come along given prior booking.

Great lift improvements in the last year which have really improved traffic flow through the entire resort - very few queues.

Unfortunately due to all the snow, there was a really high avalanche risk, so everyone came lower down the mountain, which was actually where we were staying (Montalbert) This made the mornings incredibly busy waiting for the lift, and the runs generally really busy. It was also quite difficult to link up to the main resort from where we were.

La Plagne is phenomenal for area size and variety. Probably not worth it for beginners as it’s quite expensive nowadays. I’m happy to go to the same area every year as it’s so enormous and always offers so many options! The only problem is that the lifts get busier every year!
