What Skiers Say About La Plagne

La Plagne attracts primarily beginner and intermediate skiers, with families and mixed-ability groups featuring prominently. Users consistently mention the vast ski area and extensive blue and red runs, plus lift-linked access to Les Arcs via the Paradiski pass. Snow reliability is frequently praised due to high altitude, and the lift system receives positive remarks for efficiency outside peak times. The resort is described as family-friendly and quieter than some alternatives, though multiple reviewers note that nightlife and après options are limited compared to livelier resorts. Queues and crowded pistes are mentioned during school holidays and at certain bottleneck lifts, particularly around Plagne Bellecôte in the afternoon. Food quality on the mountain is generally well-regarded, though prices are noted as high.

A family friendly resort with great slopes and great people. Ski school is like a community here you feel like the whole resort dumps their kids at the bottom of the slope in the morning, eager to learn and full of joy. Feels like a community and a feeling of togetherness. Really recommend for learning harder pistes and how to really ski on challenging pistes. Great environment and great food. If you want to spend its worth the value just be prepared to be going well into the 000s

I spent four days in La Plagne in January as an intermediate skier, and it was a fantastic experience. The snow quality was excellent throughout my stay, with well-groomed pistes that were a joy to ski on.
I appreciated the variety of runs, especially the wide blue slopes, which were perfect for building confidence, and some manageable reds that pushed my limits just enough. Despite being peak winter, the slopes werent too crowded, allowing for relaxed skiing without constantly navigating around others. The views were stunning, and there was always a cozy mountain restaurant nearby for a quick break. Overall, it was a perfect mix of progression and enjoymenthighly recommend it for intermediate skiers!

Wow! What a resort. First visit 2024 and we booked our second visit for 2025. I love the sheer size of the resort and for those wanting to go further the addition of the Les Arcs pass! Something for everyone here spread across the dozen or so villages! Our hotel last year was shocking (MMV Aime) so hopefully this year our hotel in belle plagne will be better. I love la plagne and can see myself returning in the future

Ive been for the last few years and always had lots of ski run options. Its a big place with lots of quick lifts. Can get busy but can avoid queues by timing where to be after lunch. Enjoy going back

We skied belle plagne in 2024. As a family of four we found it quite easy to get around the resort and the list systems are quite effective, despite a lot of skiers during French holidays. We found the ski school (was) to be very good too.

Overall I would go back

Great resort - not the prettiest, but plenty of good skiing and well connected. Satellite villages make it feel less busy. Plenty of quirky little bars if you can find them! Lots for the children to do - Plagne centre and aime 2000 have lots of indoor space.

Loved la Plagne. Went in March so bottom of runs was snow cannon and slush but still lots of fun and runs wide enough to go down in peace. Head over to les arc pretty easy. Black runs very good and lots to choose from.

As a beginner, I had a great experience at La Plagne. Theres lots of blue runs and some shorter runs in the centre for practise/getting more confident. Seems to be lots of red and black runs for anyone not a beginner. I didnt take any lessons but saw lots of ski schools available. Theres also several restaurants around with lots of choice of food and drink.

A great resort. Take the additional ski pass day to Les Arcs and experience the Vanois Express. Personally stayed at Hotel Carolina, which was a brilliant hotel on the side of the piste, with a spa and great food and bar. Plenty of skiing to be done, and have been here many times in the past.

Do not go when ANY French or Belgium school holidays are on as the lifts have 1.5 hour queues at least in the morning.

Try and stay in higher parts of La Plagne and try not to drop in to lower areas as the queues will be as bad.

Great resort for offpiste - we had a guide who took us to the best places with the best conditions.
We took a course via UCPA where we had a great guide and spoke OK english for us.
Some groomed slopes can get very crowded, especially in the beginner area with a lot of green slopes. The further you go from there, the more quiet it will become.

We also did the famous offpiste route Le Petit North Face. Really nice and long run down to the valley.
Of course, always bring your avalanche gear!

If you are up for it, you can also explore the ski area of Les Arcs which is connected by two lifts.
