What Skiers Say About La Plagne

La Plagne attracts primarily beginner and intermediate skiers, with families and mixed-ability groups featuring prominently. Users consistently mention the vast ski area and extensive blue and red runs, plus lift-linked access to Les Arcs via the Paradiski pass. Snow reliability is frequently praised due to high altitude, and the lift system receives positive remarks for efficiency outside peak times. The resort is described as family-friendly and quieter than some alternatives, though multiple reviewers note that nightlife and après options are limited compared to livelier resorts. Queues and crowded pistes are mentioned during school holidays and at certain bottleneck lifts, particularly around Plagne Bellecôte in the afternoon. Food quality on the mountain is generally well-regarded, though prices are noted as high.

First ski resort that I visited as someone who is new to skiing. Beginner friendly and plenty of runs to choose from. Great bars and lunch options too including budget friendly ones. I have actually visited this resort twice now and really enjoyed both times.

La plagne is a fabulous ski resort with different villages. Lots of ski runs will not get bored. Good for families, friends, couples and also no skiers. Good restaurants and bars catering for everyone.

There are a few good off piste spots but they are quite hard to find. The après is good if you are staying in the higher part of the resort, otherwise you cannot stay too late as you cannot ski back down to the lower station. The apres at the lower station is not very good. Very family friendly but with some good harder pistes as well.

La plagne has something for everyone. Its really fun at the end of the season , subli cimes, hot tubs up the mountain, bungee , air bags and water skiing on skis. Plus loads more. Could do with a bit more apres but all in all I love it.

Dont like it as much as Paradiski - Arcs/ Peisey-Vallandry. I found the runs busy and bland. I wasnt staying there, came across via the Vanoise Express

Had the most amazing time in La Plagne. Well groomed runs, that were quite busy with long lift queues but thats expected. So many amazing accommodations to choose from, we opted for the more quieter Belle plagne area but gondola was easy to get to go further down to more bars and restaurants.

Great ski resort. So many slopes you can go to that are all well connected. Many lift options for going up the mountain. All chalets are on the mountain so you can ski from the door of the hotel. Lifts are almost all comfortable 6 or 8 man chair, with only a queue in the morning with ski school. Its a high altitude resort so snow is there quite late in the season. Many shops and restaurants across whole resort.

Chose this resort for a weeks skiing hoping itd be appropriate for my partner with only 2 previous weeks skiing experience and it did not disappoint - she had great morning lessons and then we enjoyed top to bottom skiing all week. Massive amount of pisted terrain had us feeling like there was new ground to cover daily, and excellent variety lots of small towns for accommodation options, very well linked by lifts. Will definitely be back!

Enjoyed it thoroughly, even when icy could always find an area worth boarding on. Some decent nightlife too for an old boy who likes live music. Plenty of accomodation types available. Quite a few with ski in ski out. Car park good and underground.

La Plagne is a well organised resort which we have found suited to families. There is a good app which is updated on time and the lift status is generally accurate with well functioning lifts and no inappropriate closures.
The resort has a good selection of cafes and bars but the Apres is not as lively as some other resorts. This makes it better suited to families.
The road clearance is good in the villages and the shops provide a range of groceries and there are a couple of pharmacies and a good medical center which we used when our daughter twisted her knee. There are some good other activities such as paragliding, husky sledding and rental for cross country/ snow shoes. The connection to Plagne centre is made easier by the telebus.
The altitude of the resort and excellent piste grooming has made for several good holidays even in the first and last weeks of the season.
Overall I would totally recommend this as a snowsure and well maintained resort with good runs and a great location for a family ski holiday.
