What Skiers Say About La Plagne

La Plagne attracts primarily beginner and intermediate skiers, with families and mixed-ability groups featuring prominently. Users consistently mention the vast ski area and extensive blue and red runs, plus lift-linked access to Les Arcs via the Paradiski pass. Snow reliability is frequently praised due to high altitude, and the lift system receives positive remarks for efficiency outside peak times. The resort is described as family-friendly and quieter than some alternatives, though multiple reviewers note that nightlife and après options are limited compared to livelier resorts. Queues and crowded pistes are mentioned during school holidays and at certain bottleneck lifts, particularly around Plagne Bellecôte in the afternoon. Food quality on the mountain is generally well-regarded, though prices are noted as high.

I loved the fun slope at this resort I I wasnt as keen on the slopes in the forest as I thought it was difficult to see. Overall though I loved this resort so much that I am going again in a week.

I have skied here a lot, over 40 weeks, and I love it. Always had decent snow, plenty of slopes to chose from, and really well signposted.

This is my favourite resort so far. Its not as vast as Les 3 Vallées but big enough for the variety of pistes and off pistes.
Even with the range of skill levels among the group, we were able to ski in the same area and come across to each other.
The accommodation variety is good too with reasonable prices.
One downside is the accessible big grocery shop but otherwise theres not much to complain!

We have stayed at both Bellecôte and Belle and love them both, Bellecôte has more going on and is ski in and out but being higher Belle is better placed on the hill but less options for everything, however still fine for a few weeks, we actually found it easier to get into restaurants in the smaller Belle Plagne for some reason. Great shops and also you need really. I prefer the swimming pool in Bellecôte to the Spa in Belle Plagne but the spa is warmer. We could walk out of our apartment in Belle Plagne and ski down to Bellecôte to pick up the télécabine up to Roche du Mio. Friendly people and great location and access to the awesome Paradiski ski area.

La plagne is a lovely resort which we visited in half term and very family friendly. Lots of runs to explore including Les Arcs. Just make sure to get the last lift back from la folliedouce

Classic French resort, although large and sprawling, is well connected.

Lifts are okay most I feel are quite old compared to Austrian equivalents.

Equally, French piste markings can sometimes be quite off for difficulty ratings.

Accommodation quality (especially lower end) can be quite tired and poor quality.

Im almost reluctant to review La Plagne. To be honest, Id rather the crowds just kept going to the bigger-name resorts and spending a fortune while leaving those in the know to enjoy this absolute gem.

It might not be as famous as other places just down the road in the French Alps, but it has hundreds of miles of gorgeous pistes, breathtaking views, a choice of top-quality ski schools, an ideal range of bars, restaurants and activities away from the slopes.

Top-notch experts might lament the relatively small number of black runs, but theres still plenty of fun to be had on some real testers, including some unpisted monsters and some gorgeous off-piste fields and testing drops.

The new Glaciers 3000 run from the highest point is a beautiful red or black which will be fun for anyone from intermediate up, while the rest of the resort has a perfect range of green, blue and red runs, with a good blend of challenges for skiers and snowboarders alike.

You can spend a little more for a full Paradiski pass which gives you access to Les Arcs too, though many will find it isnt required and theyre already spoilt for choice across La Plagne.

The range of villages also means you can feel much more choice than other resorts from the largest Plagne Centre to my personal favourite, Belle Plagne, which has a perfect Alpine village feel, stunning location and great range of bars and restaurants.

Away from the slopes, the sledge run out of Centre is insane, the Olympic bobsleigh experience is not to be missed and paragliding from one of the peaks is spectacular.

Top tips: Deep Nature spa in Belle Plagne is great for a hot pool dip and chance to ease away any aches and pains; La Face Nord is magnificent for a good dinner, La Hors Piste is perfect for lunch.

But to be honest, Id rather you ignored this and went elsewhere, leaving us to enjoy the perfect French Alps experience in a great place.

Excellent resort for familys and all levels of skiers. Lots of blue / green runs and the back provides some good reds. When you get bored you can then head over to Les arcs where skinning is also as good

Great resort with many ski in ski out options. The different villages within the resort are well connected and clearly signposted, giving great options for long days out on the mountain. Resort is high there for giving a better snow quality in general than some other resorts. Good range of runs available for all abilities.

This was where I learnt to ski when I was younger, and it is a very safe bet for good snow due to how high it is.

Unfortunately the holiday often starts with a long transfer due to its positioning, but its a small price to pay for such a good resort.

Ski schools are really good and only had good things to say about them when I went as a kid.. some years ago now though!!

Some lovely tree runs and off piste, but also lots and lots of nice groomed run for all levels of skier and boarder.

We found the town really nice to go out for meals in. Looking back the Apres probably isnt as prominent as other resorts, so it depends what holiday you want.

If you want almost guaranteed good snow and nice runs, La Plagne wont do you wrong

La Plagne is a fantastic resort for both families, couples or groups of friends and is a great base to ski in the entire Paradiski area (ie Les Arcs and La Plagne) which is huge! This resort has something for everyone with plenty of beginner slopes to black runs on the glacier. With great apres ski bars and restaurants and snow-sure runs, if you like Les 3 Vallees (Val T, Meribel, Courchevel) then you will also love La Plagne/Paradiski resort! I would 100% ski here again.

Some good beginner facilities, but La Plagne more for the intermediate and expert skiers. There is a hugely diverse ski area spread over 225km of pistes. For experts, it has huge areas of off piste that dont get skied out too quickly. Great food scene and good après-ski. Accommodation range is also good.

First time on a snow sports holiday, 2 of us snowboarder and 2 skied. There were plenty of runs to choose from for all abilities. A good mixture of magic carpet, button, chair and bubble lifts. We all had morning lessons which was very beneficial and didn't cost top much more than lift pass and hire would have been. The town had a good infrastructure. Definitely will be going back to La Plange again
