What Skiers Say About Kitzbühel

Kitzbühel attracts predominantly advanced and expert skiers, with reviewers consistently praising the extensive ski area, modern lift infrastructure with heated seats, and well-groomed pistes. The resort is noted for its charming old town, quality on-mountain restaurants, and vibrant après-ski scene, particularly at venues like The Londoner. However, the low altitude means snow conditions can be unreliable, with many reviewers reporting icy slopes and dependence on artificial snowmaking. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive for accommodation, dining, and drinks, though some find the quality justifies the cost.

Always a wonderful trip. Although the town has become very upmarket and therefore more expensive, you can still get relatively cheap food and drink. Apres ski in The Londoner has been incredible for decades mainly thanks to the Short & Curlies duo. Also great atmosphere in Flannigans bar Skiing is great for allLevels and if you want quiet runs, head Jochberg direction.

Great skiing, lots of variation in piste colours and a big park. Warm seated lifts, not overly busy mid January, nothing worse than slope traffic. Lovely town with lots of things to do and places to eat.

Great place when there is snow. Go earlier in the season. When there last March there wasn't enough snow to ski back to base so had to catch the gondola back down. Great access to Jochberg ski area was a plus!

More calm and quiet than larger St. Anton and felt more spread out, bussing from base to base. Great subdued vibe and great terrain for intermediates and experts. Didn't feel like a spot for backcountry riders/skiers. Good family spot can other Austrian resorts.

Love the picturesque town of kitzbuhel and ski area. So many runs that are perfectly groomed and linked up together - has to be my favourite resort. Also cant beat the chance to ski the famous slopes of the Hannenkamm race. Great restauarants and town to relax at after. Perfect for everyone; families, couples and friends!

The ski resort is nice and well maintained but it's too low the altitude so the slopes will be very icy if it's not snowing often

Excellent variety of ski slopes. Some quite challenging blue runs so maybe not the best for real beginners. Excellent apres ski bar just off the cable car at the bottom. Beautiful resort with plenty of restaurants to grab a drink and a bite to eat on the mountain.

Overall I throughly enjoyed it. We went for the new year in 2019-2020. We did not stay in a hotel/chalet on the slope but one which was a 5-10 minute bus ride away which didnt make travel difficult.

The slopes werent too busy and was easy to get a meal at the slope restaurants at lunch time. There were also plenty of options to choose from, not just canteens but good sit down meals.
