I loved snowboarding there. Huge resort! There’s lots of lifts and great runs. Weekends get a bit crowded but it still won’t spoil the fun! Some great options for different types of runs, but definitely not a resort for beginners. Loved the vibe!

Great place so long as there is plenty of snow. Not the highest mountain range otherwise. Central sauna is well worth a visit.

We had an excellent 5 days In Kitzbuhel. Our first time skiing in Austria & we were all v impressed. The Edelweiss Hotel was convenient location & just 5 mins to the lifts. The lifts were quick & once up in the mountains not crowded like France. The slopes were fairly well groomed but as it was warm it became slushy mid afternoon.
Good choice of eateries & bars & not over priced.
Would return & recommend.

A beautiful massive ski area with slopes that require a higher level of experience than most resorts do.

The resort had a variety of different slopes and plenty for intermediate skiers to do. The Apres ski is better in the town than on the slopes.

Went with my 16 yr old son. Spent NYE here which was the best NYE I’ve had. We stayed at the top of the mountain, had wonderful dinner and the fireworks were amazing. I found the resort super easy to navigate. Maps at the top of all the lifts. The apres is excellent. Really loved it.

The town was snow free the week we were there, with no fresh snow. However, the pistes were all well covered and well groomed all week.
The lifts were all in working order, operating efficiently, with help at hand for those who needed it.
The mountain restaurants were very busy during the main lunch period, but the staff were efficient and we always got served. Some blue runs got rather busy, but once on the reds or blacks, the slopes were much quieter.
You can take the race run back to the town, rather than the bubble. It was a bit icy in places during the week we were there, but we managed it without a problem.
The town has an excellent selection of restaurants to suit all tastes and all wallets. Similarly the bars are many and varied, and the traffic free centre makes it easy to get around safely. A great resort all round.

Kitzbuhel was mind-blowing! We stayed in Kufstein so it was very easy to get to. Trains ran often and it was only a few stops. The lift was actually right beside the train station! We didn’t bring our gear so we rented from Intersport, which was also an easy process. I think it took less than an hour to get off the train and on the slopes. Lift tickets were inexpensive and there were even cheaper options the later you started up the mountain. Once we were up the mountain, I was blown away by the sheer vastness of it. There were so many lifts, huts and runs! (There weren’t too many snowboarders like me though!) The runs were well groomed, a little icy in some parts of the blue runs but it was also a pretty warm sunny day. We finished off by enjoying the aprés ski scene with some proseccos at one of the most lively huts. I was impressed to see Dom Perignon casually being sold by the bottle, we don’t see that often back in Canada! This is my fave resort so far! I can’t wait to come back soon and check out all the Alps!

Kitzbuhel is a wonderful resort for skiers and non skiers alike! The beautiful charming town has an abundance of restaurants and bars, and has plenty of non mountain based activities for those who may not be keen skiers. For those who are, its even more brilliant. A huge ski area with a plethora of runs varying from blues to blacks so there is something for everyone. The lifts are well maintained and fast, and the variety of huts and restaurants at the top is fantastic. Will continue to return for years!

I have lived in Kitzbuhel for nearly 2 years as a ski rep and lakes and mountain rep and therefore have seen the resort through summer and winter seasons. The quality of the skiing is awesome. The cost of this resort is high and therefore maybe not the place to ski with a family.

I have skied this area a number of times and stayed in kitzbuhel a few times. Love the skiing the resort and the people, on the slopes and lifts. The pistes are very well maintained and lift attendants are always very helpful and polite.

Parking very good most of the time and skiing between near by resorts is also very easy to reach by car.
The resort has so much character and the buildings etc are so great to look at.
What a resort, fantastic if the conditions allow.

Kitzbuhel is an easy to understand resort with 2 main areas to ski, though also good to buy a Ski Welt pass for the day to open up a huge region for you reaching Sol and 4-5 other small resorts in the Tyrol.
I was surprised at how many venues only take cash and do not take credit cards, especially if the bill is below euros 20. And better to get euros out from the UK, otherwise every cash machine in town charges between euros 4 and 6 per withdrawal.
Expect to tip especially in town in the evening. I was challenged at Centro for not having tipped enough! If it werent for the fact they did make extremely good pasta and pizza, I would not have returned.
The slopes still have snow late season but thats due to the artificial snow they blast around each evening, so although its covered its very scratchy especially on a snowboard which makes spring skiing much better here once its melted a little.
There are many blues and reds connecting pistes and the route home so its doable for intermediate skiers. There are not many blacks and although apparently the itineraries are great, all were closed by March 2025 due to lack of snow coverage.
The S3 mega gondola is very impressive, joining the 2 big areas together but be careful of timing if you intend to ski back, as the lifts do close about 4pm on both sides so you might be caught out. There is always a way down to the valley though from which you can catch a bus back to Kitzbuhel Hannenkamm station.
The apres ski is crazy with lots of bars to choose from. I did feel it was a bit like a smaller version of St Anton (ie. A lot of lads weeks and stag dos, so dont expect a quiet time there unless you hole yourself away in your hotel spa eg at The Erika).
Accomodation is varied, you can stay cheap and share a bathroom at Kitzbuhel main station, catching a train (1 stop) or a local ring bus each morning to take you to the Hannenkamm lift. Otherwise upgrade to a small or large hotel in the town. The closer to Hannenkamm the better although its not bad logistically.
There is plenty of storage for skis and boots and all your stuff under the Hannenkamm gondola.
Everything revolves around this gondola station.
If you stay down at Kitzbuhel main Bahnhof area, without skis and ski boots, its a 10min walk to town so not that bad. There are 2-3 medium sized supermarkets in town, an Aldi and a Brillo, so you can get provisions very easily.
If you stay in a pension, youll need to take your own soap.
Remember to try to take the Ki-West bus to westerndorf to do the Ski Welt. When we did it, we did 136 runs, so be prepared. You need to be fit and have enough stamina. The Welt tour takes in a few more radical blacks too. Again watch the clock as you dont want to miss the buss back from whichever valley you end up in. Ski welt pass an extra euros 33 (March 2025).
Overall a fun place. Certainly go there to party after several runs on the slopes.
