What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain attracts a wide range of visitors from beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers highlighting it as the largest and most accessible resort in Southern Ontario, particularly for those travelling from Toronto and the GTA. The village at the base receives consistent praise for its atmosphere, dining options, and additional activities beyond skiing. Reviewers repeatedly mention that weekdays offer a much better experience than weekends, when lift queues become significantly longer and crowds impact enjoyment. Snow conditions are variable, with artificial snowmaking maintaining coverage but reviewers frequently noting icy patches and limited natural powder. Pricing is a common criticism, with many users stating lift tickets, food, and accommodation are expensive relative to what the resort offers compared to larger destinations.

Chair lifts are pretty fast and staff is friendly. There are many runs since the resort spans across a wide escarpment face, but all of the runs are groomed and theyre always very icy. I wish that there were a few mogul runs or more gladed runs. The resort would benefit from a greater variety of runs.

Its a great fun resort for young kids and new families to get out and ski in Ontario. Over priced and a lot of traffic from tourists in Toronto. Surrounding resorts are nice but hills are no where near as large as most ski destinations throughout the world

The resort is quite nice, with a beautiful village and many restaurant options. There are also many accommodation options, ranging from luxury to low budget. The slopes here are good, however usually quite crowded as blue mountain is a popular spot. Would definitely return here and also recommend it to others

Best hill in ontario, but village is way to expensive and is a tourist trap. Recommend going on weekdays

Its the best youll find in southern Ontario, and they know it, and theyll fleece you for it. Go in the morning for decent conditions and runs. It gets overrun and chewed up by 1-2pm on any given weekend. Theres also a lot of inexperienced and inebriated skiers in the evenings and nights who ski dangerously. Ive experienced a lot of unprofessionalism here ranging from rentals to restaurants. If youre travelling, dont bother but if you live in the area and want to ski a run with a vertical that takes more than 15 seconds to get down, this is the only spot.

Great ski resort for all experience levels. Went with friend group where most of us were beginner skiers, and we gradually got better throughout the day. Easy to rent equipment and multiple trails to choose from. Ski lift moves efficiently.

Great place especially for beginners to learn/practice snowboarding or skiing if you live in Ontario. I believe every level rider will find a slope to enjoy since they have diamond, double diamond slopes and 4 terrain parks. There are other resorts closer to Toronto but they are smaller and dont offer the wide range of other activities for the whole family that Blue Mountain has. Many dinning options in the village as well as accommodation Overall , nice place to spend the weekend

Always love taking the glade runs on the Orchard Lift (my favorite). The North side is also a great addition, be careful on the Elevator Shaft! Love going for Aprés Skiing afterwards, the firehouse pizza place is excellent for food as well!

Best slopes for the GTA people. Nicely groomed and fun trails. Avoid going on the weekend tho, too busy and with too many people learning so its hard to keep the flow.
