What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain attracts a wide range of visitors from beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers highlighting it as the largest and most accessible resort in Southern Ontario, particularly for those travelling from Toronto and the GTA. The village at the base receives consistent praise for its atmosphere, dining options, and additional activities beyond skiing. Reviewers repeatedly mention that weekdays offer a much better experience than weekends, when lift queues become significantly longer and crowds impact enjoyment. Snow conditions are variable, with artificial snowmaking maintaining coverage but reviewers frequently noting icy patches and limited natural powder. Pricing is a common criticism, with many users stating lift tickets, food, and accommodation are expensive relative to what the resort offers compared to larger destinations.

Excellent resort for family and beginners/casual skiiers. If you want the real deal, long verticals and deep pow, go out west! For east coast skiing, this place is awesome.

Blue Mountain is owned by Vale Resorts and like all others, the day lift ticket price has gone WAY up. But the value is still there with lots of varied terrain, a great park setup and night skiing. The village has many amenities and unique restaurants, some reasonably priced. Ski in the mornings before the school groups get there and you'll have some runs to yourself. Personally I stay away on weekends as the lift lines are very very long.

I'm in my happy place when I'm shredding the blacks and double blacks at Blue North. What Blue Mountain lacks in height it makes up for in width. The 43 runs are spread over four distinct areas. There is a lot of variety. This resort gets crowded, it's a good idea to hit the hill when lifts open.

Hotels were great, but the skiing was way too busy, the mountains weren't groomed and took a long time to get back up to the top.

Some decent skiing during off peak dates. A bit overpriced for food and accommodation especially during busy weekends.

We just went this past weekend and the conditions were great. We will be going back on Saturday. Its a great plan to take friends and family. If you dont ski theres something for everyone. They have great hill variety and take good care of the courses. May be a few icy patches but overall well groomed. We had a great time exploring different runs on the mountain. The enchanted forest fun has cute little cottages on top of the mountain. If you like skiing are quite good or are a beginner all levels are welcome here.

Blue mountain is often over crowded, especially on weekends. You spent more time waiting for a chairlift than going down the hills. Its also very expensive to stay at the village. Not worth it in my opinion.

Blue Mountain is a nice resort if you are looking for something not too far from the GTA. However, it is extremely overpriced and crowded for what it offers. The lift tickets are very expensive and you are often waiting quite some time in line for the lifts. The village is the best part about the resort as there is tons to do and a variety of nice restaurants. Lots of airbnbs and hotels in the area. Fun for a girls weekend, but would not say it is the best quality of skiing for your dollar.

The slops at blue have diverse levels of hills that accommodates every level. Their terrain park keeps getting better and better every year with added grind rails and multiple elevated jumps.Blue mountain is a good size resort, not too big and not small, it's an in-between resort. Where if you feel Hungary you don't have to ski for an hr or 2 to get to the village. Everything is accessible. Their skating rink at the top of the mountain is cute and sweet. They allow dogs at their resort which is nice and multiple families can do different activities.

We went for my best friends birthday. Ski conditions were gnarled. Powder all day, snowing all day, could not have asked for a better day. Ski runs went smooth and liftys were funny and patient with everyone.

Come here multiple times per season and its always a good time. Would recommend coming during the week if possible, to avoid longer lines. Lots of accommodations available in the village. A beautiful place overall!

It's a hill close to millions of people that live in the GTA, not a destination ski area. It can get very busy in weekends admnd lineups get long.
