What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain
Blue Mountain attracts a wide range of visitors from beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers highlighting it as the largest and most accessible resort in Southern Ontario, particularly for those travelling from Toronto and the GTA. The village at the base receives consistent praise for its atmosphere, dining options, and additional activities beyond skiing. Reviewers repeatedly mention that weekdays offer a much better experience than weekends, when lift queues become significantly longer and crowds impact enjoyment. Snow conditions are variable, with artificial snowmaking maintaining coverage but reviewers frequently noting icy patches and limited natural powder. Pricing is a common criticism, with many users stating lift tickets, food, and accommodation are expensive relative to what the resort offers compared to larger destinations.

Can get very overly busy which makes it unpleasant as the chairlift waits are long.
Best to go on weekdays.
The village is ok. Overpriced but nice for a beer apres.
And the customer service could care less about helping you with your issues or concerns.
The final straw for me was when Covid was on you couldn't get passes to guarantee you a lift ticket for a given day so I purchased a 5x7 pass as well as two Double Downs so that I could at least be able to ride, but once the hill closed down for Covid we weren't given the chance of refunds. We had to use it or lose it the next season, but I had a severe injury that year so I couldn't ride. I asked that they give me even resort credit for the approx. $500.00 I had put out that I could use that year for even accommodations & was totally denied. I even asked for a reasonable percentage & that was denied too. It was the only place throughout all of the Covid mess that did not offer refunds as I actually had approx. $30,000.00 out there in sporting & concert tickets as well as 2 trips & every single other entity offered complete refunds and/or incentive credits. I actually still have one for a concert venue that they continue to honour all these years later yet the owners/management at Blue Mountain would not honour any of my financial commitment. I used to be a regular for 35 years mostly because it was the closest hill with even their limited vert (720 ft), but I have not been back & won't likely ever go again. Don't waste your money unless you have little other choice.
