What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain attracts a wide range of visitors from beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers highlighting it as the largest and most accessible resort in Southern Ontario, particularly for those travelling from Toronto and the GTA. The village at the base receives consistent praise for its atmosphere, dining options, and additional activities beyond skiing. Reviewers repeatedly mention that weekdays offer a much better experience than weekends, when lift queues become significantly longer and crowds impact enjoyment. Snow conditions are variable, with artificial snowmaking maintaining coverage but reviewers frequently noting icy patches and limited natural powder. Pricing is a common criticism, with many users stating lift tickets, food, and accommodation are expensive relative to what the resort offers compared to larger destinations.

Overall, we had a wonderful family experience at Welder Lodge Blue mountains Canada. The three-bedroom apartments boasted a fantastic ski-in/ski-out location and were well-equipped and impeccably clean. Being the holiday season, the resort was bustling, and it was my first time skiing. I found the instructors to be highly experienced, and the learn-to-ski program was both enjoyable and effective.

We were particularly grateful for the sit-ski lesson provided for one of my daughters, who has a physical disability, as it allowed her to fully participate in the activities. My eldest daughter also thoroughly enjoyed her ski school experience.

However, we did encounter a few challenges during our stay. Unfortunate weather conditions led to the ski lifts being closed on one of the three days, and we faced long lines for lift passes and rentals. Additionally, our private sit-ski lesson was delayed, which resulted in quite a bit of waiting around and some frustration.

On a brighter note, the village offered a lively atmosphere with live music in the central square, providing a great opportunity to dance and socialize. The variety of restaurant options was also a plus, and the toy and candy store was a big hit with the kids.

Despite the minor setbacks, we made lasting memories and enjoyed our time together as a family!

Decent skill hill for Ontario but nothing like out west. Good for a day trip getting it out of the system. Avoid holidays

The runs were nicely trimmed and not crowded during midweek . I love the gates being automatic getting onto the chair . Burgers and fries were about $20 so expensive. Bring your own food . Parking is free . Lots of black runs to choose from too

Blue mountain is great for beginners! It’s quite busy with tourist as its one of the closest hills to the city of Toronto, but it’s a good starting point for skiing. If you’re more advanced, I wouldn’t or want an app ski vibe I wouldn’t say it’s the best.

I attended the Blue Mountain ski training and found the experience to be average overall. The instructors were knowledgeable and helpful, but the training felt fairly standard and didn’t stand out compared to other ski programs. The session was organized well enough, though it could have been more engaging or personalized. Overall, it met expectations but didn’t exceed them.

Great time skiing here for my 3rd season. I was finally able to carve tranquility and legacy way, great blue runs for first timers. Wiped out in the apple bowl but it happens. The resort should have notified some beginners that a trail was closed, as it was the only way to get down was a blue slope and there were a lot of people at the top who were beginners. Everything is pretty pricey here food wise. Good trail connections tho.

I have a cottage in Blue Mountain and so my brothers and I get a 5x7 pass every year. This works great for us and we don’t really want to ski on the weekends when it’s very busy. Blue Mountain is a great hill for all rider levels. The runs are generally pretty good although I wouldn’t say it’s great for tree runs or off course. The village is cute and has lots to do if you’re there as a tourist just for a week, however it does become a little “samey” if you’re there a lot It is pricey ( as all resorts tend to be), but has a good variety of restaurants and ski shops. I’d encourage people to also go into Collingwood and Thornbury!

Had a blast staying here. This is Ontario so don’t expect the tallest hills or best snow, but it was still a fun time. It’s a wide hill so there’s enough variety in runs which is nice. The real highlight is the village which is great for après but also anyone not there to ski/snowboard can still have a great time. Lots of activities and options.

Great exposure to “mountains” in Ontario. Lots of terrain groomed, trees and powder when it does snow. Lift lines are a little long so prepare to wait but the apres in The Village is delicious and worth it. Park could use a little work and parking area is sparse- get there early

Great time at this resort overall! Was there on a weekend and beginning of the year so maybe thats why the lines took a while at the lifts but not too bad. The slopes were great with the fresh powder. The drinks and food is priced on the higher side.

Best hill and resort in Ontario, and not too far from Toronto. The village has awesome hotels, spas, eating, and shopping. Also plenty of activities to do such as snow tubing and skating rinks as well as events happening often. Great bang for buck

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Stay – Pure Relaxation and Luxury

From the moment we arrived, this resort exceeded every expectation. The property is stunning, immaculately maintained, and perfectly designed to blend comfort with natural beauty. Every detail—from the lush landscaping to the thoughtful layout—made it feel like a true escape.

The staff truly set this place apart. Every team member we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make our stay special. Whether it was a friendly greeting, prompt service, or helpful local recommendations, their hospitality was exceptional.

Our room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully appointed, with a comfortable bed and a breathtaking view that made mornings unforgettable. The amenities were top-notch, and housekeeping maintained everything to the highest standard.

Dining at the resort was a highlight. The food was consistently delicious, fresh, and well-presented, with a variety of options that catered to different tastes. Each meal felt like a special experience rather than just another resort restaurant.

The pool and beach areas were peaceful and well-organized, offering plenty of space to relax without feeling crowded. Whether lounging, swimming, or simply enjoying the scenery, it was easy to unwind and truly disconnect.

Overall, this resort delivered the perfect balance of luxury, relaxation, and outstanding service. We left feeling refreshed, pampered, and already planning our return. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a memorable and stress-free getaway.
