What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain attracts a wide range of visitors from beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers highlighting it as the largest and most accessible resort in Southern Ontario, particularly for those travelling from Toronto and the GTA. The village at the base receives consistent praise for its atmosphere, dining options, and additional activities beyond skiing. Reviewers repeatedly mention that weekdays offer a much better experience than weekends, when lift queues become significantly longer and crowds impact enjoyment. Snow conditions are variable, with artificial snowmaking maintaining coverage but reviewers frequently noting icy patches and limited natural powder. Pricing is a common criticism, with many users stating lift tickets, food, and accommodation are expensive relative to what the resort offers compared to larger destinations.

Blue Mountain is just a beautiful place to go with your family or friends. I love the variety of trails and the size of them. The only thing I could dislike is how busy it gets, but apart from that there aint much more.

Blue Mountain, while crowded is good for beginner riders.
a bit on the pricey side, however it does have a decent variety of blue and green runs. Main issues being crowdedness and price.

Almost all of the runs are the same. Too crowded and full of people who think they know what they are doing both skiers and boarders yelling From behind for you to move out of the way. Way too expensive for what it has to offer. The village is more appealing than the skiing. I would go there if it was free and even then I would not make the time to go. I would have to have nothing else going on. It is unfortunate because Blue mountain used to be a nice place to ski.

Blue Mountain is a great all rider level resort. With all the high speed 6 person chairlifts, the lines move really quick.
There is lots of terrain which allows for progression from beginner to advanced riders, including a great terrain park.

The village at Blue has a lot of excellent restaurants, with a variety of choices. There are great stores for shopping, from snowboard gear to glasses to spas to high end clothing.

There are 6 hotels, 5 in the village, including the Westin, and hundreds of condos.

Cant express enough what a great vacation experience Blue Mountain is.

Honestly, depends on when you go. Loft tickets can be over priced at times. If you're getting food, the chalet is way overpriced for the ok food you get, ride over to the village, the food there is great, or just beaver tales at the top of silver bullet. Trails need groomed more often and need to be left open if they become a powder run instead of being closed. Park is fun, but has been better in the past. Mogals are never intended, just slopes badly maintained sometimes. And glades should be marked better.

All around, it's a good hill for in Ontario, but it's also a hill and not a mountain. So you get what you expect with that.

If you go on the right days, it's a pretty good place.

Great place to Ski in Ontario, Canada
The Blue Mountain Village is a great spot to grab a bite to eat and/or some drinks with friends, with lots of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Although the prices in the village are quite expensive, all around always a great time at Blue Mountain.

The only reason the rating's not higher is the mountain's quite small.
Runs would be roughly 400-600m.
The winter village is quite nice, there's two good dinner options, a bunch more options if you eat earlier or snack.

Blue mountain is good resort for Ontario, with a spectacular ski village. It can be really busy on weekends, but during the week is pretty free flowing. When the conditions are good, it's a great way to spend the day, on and off the mountain.

Great spot in Ontario generally the best spot in ON to learn to ski/snowboard highly recommend to check out plus you have the option on not staying in the village as the town is close enough. Me n my mates used to drive down from Barrie n back no problem

I come from BC so I was very underwhelmed by the size of Blue mountain. To me, I could barely get my legs warmed up by the time I was done a run, but it was certainly better than no skiing at all!
It is a manufactured snow mini-hill essentially, awesome for racer training etc but not necessarily the spot for big lines.
I had a good time in the park and they had set up some cool features and there was certainly a culture in the park.
The apres ski was excellent, quite pricey but of a high standard

Blue mountain is the best hill you can get in Ontario. Due to this fact it becomes the destination for everyone resulting in over crowding, difficult to get into bars at night, a minefield on the slopes with people of different levels, there is rarely powder resulting in a lot of injuries to newer skiers. Recommend St Louis for newer skiers as it is friendlier and there is separation in skill level.

Also for what you get at Blue mountain the price is very high(130$). Went to better ski resorts for the same price out west which causes me to not understand the pricing. Less runs, lower elevation, long lines, rarely powder.

Night life, hotels and activities around are top notch. If you plan to do a day of skiing it is okay but wouldn't be a destination for the skiing. More for spa and relaxation with family. Skiing is just bonus.

This is a good place to go in Ontario when you are craving a ski but dont want to travel.

It is not a great mountain however. Lots of icy conditions and mud spots. The glades dont get lots of snow which make them hard to enjoy. It is especially difficult when they make snow for the hill when we are on it. If you dont have a face covering it feels like ice shards piercing your skin.

Its a good place when you need a ski fix! But beyond that I would spend the extra money and go to a better option.

The resort is fairly expensive and busy but if you stay away from the main resort and explore the rest of the mountain you will find lots of different trails that will be less busy. Awsome resort and I really like the north end with the steep runs

Pretty solid for what you can get in Ontario. If looking for a serious mountain, you're better off traveling a bit east to Quebec or down to Vermont. If you just want a ski village experience for the family then this really gets the job done.
