What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain attracts a wide range of visitors from beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers highlighting it as the largest and most accessible resort in Southern Ontario, particularly for those travelling from Toronto and the GTA. The village at the base receives consistent praise for its atmosphere, dining options, and additional activities beyond skiing. Reviewers repeatedly mention that weekdays offer a much better experience than weekends, when lift queues become significantly longer and crowds impact enjoyment. Snow conditions are variable, with artificial snowmaking maintaining coverage but reviewers frequently noting icy patches and limited natural powder. Pricing is a common criticism, with many users stating lift tickets, food, and accommodation are expensive relative to what the resort offers compared to larger destinations.

Pretty good for snowboarding and skiing. Has a variety of ski slopes and the ski lift is fast and runs quick. Have good views from the top and the snow is maintained really well. There are various food options at blue mountain village. It is a little costly but generally not too bad. It is family friendly. There are also hot tubs and spas that are nice there.

The resort is pretty nice, for ontario.
There isnt much different slopes, and a lot of the runs look the same.
Dont expect too much, its not a big mountain.
Overall skiing there was really fun.

This is the first resort Ive ever skiied at and funny enough the first resort Ive ever got a seasons pass at!! Located in the beautiful Collingwood Ontario sits a gem of a ski resort!! Blue Mountain hosts amazing slopes and plenty of lines to choose! Youre definitely going to need more than 1 day if you want to be able to check out all the spots when its in full season mode! They actually have upgraded their snowmaking abilities this year adding new flood lines that are actually drawn from the ponds located around the resort as it has a connecting golf course that feeds back into the ponds when the snow melts! This is an awesome family friendly resort and when youre done on the mountain you wont be disappointed in all the amazing options to grab a pint or some dinner maybe even do some shopping! This is one heck of a ski resort and its all thanks to the amazing people that run it all!! Blue Mountain for the win!!

Blue mountain is the perfect ski resort for me and my family, it is the perfect amount of time to leave from the city to a nice small town in Ontario, it holds a special place in my heart cus this is were I learned to ski as an adult and everyone was friendly, helpful and wanted you to enjoy your stay, after a hard day of skiing but beautiful views my friends and us went for a bite in town and the village is beautiful and taken care of, our accomodations were 5 min from the mountains, walking distance and it was beautiful to have a fire looking at the snowy mountain.

We have been going back every year it's something we love to do and that we'll keep doing.

Also to finish this review I will be taking my family of non skiers to learn and have fun with everyone.

There isnt many great resorts in Ontario but this is probably the only good one near-ish to Toronto. Great food around, hotel in the resort, plus summer activities. Cons are that its in ontario so we dont really get good powder, and isnt a massive mtn like places in Europe.

Experience was amazing! Everyone was so friendly and aware of my level for just starting making them very understanding of me possibly looking like a fool. I had a lot of help from people to make sure I didnt look like a fool. I would highly recommend coming to this mountain, great service, amazing food, and great members/people there. Highly thinking about getting a membership at this hill

Great for families or friend groups. Lots of places to stay in the village and tons of bars/restaurants for apres. It is very expensive so beware. The hill is usually packed on the weekend during the day but it does die down a bit for night skiing. During the week its usually not too busy at all. Lots to do other than skiing theres a skating loop at the top of the hill and a hill top bar as well. Spas and other activities to do as well. Conditions are weather dependent obviously but dont be surprised if its icy. Overall I always have a ton of fun at blue.

It's a good resort for getting some runs in, family focused, as well as suited for groups to ski and apres. Expensive for the size and how busy it can get.

Friday nights are least busy portion of weekend so take of work a bit early and spring for Friday night. Everyone from Toronto doesn't bother buying Friday night passes.

Blue mountain is an overall good place too go, has nice slopes but could have better for the price you pay. Eating there costs an arm and a leg so thats a down side. The chair lifts gives you amazing views so thats a huge plus

Most slopes are icy and not great for beginners. Can be over crowded at times. But it is the best options if you live in south of ontario as there arent many ski resorts nearby.

Great location, everything was right there, the room that we got had a kitchen so it came handy. The place has a hot tub open all year and a pool that is only open in summer. I had a great time there my only complaint will be that they didn't have a blender in the kitchen but everything was very good in general. By the way, the underground parking was only $20 dollars per day.

I learned how to snowboard at Blue. Id listen to Florence and the Machine on my drive up to the mountain on a snowy day and get all warm and fuzzy about those days whenever I hear those tunes come on the air. It was a great place to learn. The hills were well kept and very open on the weekdays. I almost killed myself a few times learning but hey, thats how it goes. The chair lifts are good but Im a horror show getting off one and kids laugh at me. Its got a great view of the lake from up top. Its got a nice beginners hill to warm up the legs before hitting the harder hills. Definitely did a few Supermans when my board caught an edge. Id love to give a rating on the park but theres no chance Id survive in there. Gotta be realistic here. The village is quaint and great for a few Caesars while warming up. The Scandinavian spa is also a very good place to relax. Definitely a good recommendation for an Ontario hill. Cheers.

Very close by but not the biggest resort and there is lots of people. Still a great resort overall. It's also on the pricier side for the area.

Great resort. A little crowded at times but it's a huge mountain that will fill up your whole day. I've stayed here at a chalet and I will say the accommodations were fantastic and decently priced. There are also shuttle busses that take you from the chalet to the resort which makes things convenient. Blue Mountain usually has very good conditions as well. I have been here when the powder is up to your knees! I also learned to snowboard here (transitioned from skiing) and it was a great learning experience.

In Ontario I would say that Blue Mountain would be the best one around. They get the most snow. And most of the runs are usually groomed pretty well.

Resort is nice but can be extremely busy on weekends/holidays so expect long lift lines. Village has plenty of dining, shopping and accomodation options. Grooming seems to be kept up nicely with high speed lifts etc. Terrain variety is great. Great seasonal and special events throughout the winter. Highly recommend.
