What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain
Blue Mountain attracts a wide range of visitors from beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers highlighting it as the largest and most accessible resort in Southern Ontario, particularly for those travelling from Toronto and the GTA. The village at the base receives consistent praise for its atmosphere, dining options, and additional activities beyond skiing. Reviewers repeatedly mention that weekdays offer a much better experience than weekends, when lift queues become significantly longer and crowds impact enjoyment. Snow conditions are variable, with artificial snowmaking maintaining coverage but reviewers frequently noting icy patches and limited natural powder. Pricing is a common criticism, with many users stating lift tickets, food, and accommodation are expensive relative to what the resort offers compared to larger destinations.

Long wait for lifts, overpriced hotels and food options.
Good parking amenities
With a small village at the base of the ski hill, there are plenty of dining and après ski options (and lots of shopping and activities for the non-skiers).
Overall a fine day out, but expect busy slopes, short runs, icy/marginal conditions and very long lift lines.
The ski school at blue was very accommodating for our youngest and now we are getting her ready to chase us around on the slopes!
I recommend this resort to beginners and families while I would suggest people looking for more advanced stuff to venture out to Quebec or Vermont if not the West Coast
There are a decent amount of runs but the caveat is they are often only open in the peak season between January and March. Often the full mountain isnt operational until New Years has passed. They are investing more in snowmaking, but Often theres still poor coverage, One positive is that during peak season they perform midday grooming.
With regards to lifts: because of the small footprint, there is no redundancy Between different pods and thus parking. There is definitely a need to upgrade the silver bullet lift Given capacity constraints and reoccurring mechanical issues
Beyond the Skiing and riding itself, The village is awesome and very family friendly.
It I got a new snowboard I would love it because I am still rocking the old 1900 one.
