What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain attracts a wide range of visitors from beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers highlighting it as the largest and most accessible resort in Southern Ontario, particularly for those travelling from Toronto and the GTA. The village at the base receives consistent praise for its atmosphere, dining options, and additional activities beyond skiing. Reviewers repeatedly mention that weekdays offer a much better experience than weekends, when lift queues become significantly longer and crowds impact enjoyment. Snow conditions are variable, with artificial snowmaking maintaining coverage but reviewers frequently noting icy patches and limited natural powder. Pricing is a common criticism, with many users stating lift tickets, food, and accommodation are expensive relative to what the resort offers compared to larger destinations.

It was epic. I just wish there was more powder when I was there. The food was too expensive but thats the same with every ski hill Ive visited

Solid resort, but nothing out of the ordinary. Solid lifts and runs, gets very busy with short season. Village is nice but pricey for Canadians, will be cheaper for stronger currencies.

I love skiing at Blue. It has runs for every level of skier/boarder. Its a short trip from the GTA, the slopes are well taken care of by the groomers, staff are friendly and there are plenty of restaurants to stop at from one side to the other. Night skiing is super fun and there are way less people on the hill and in line. I recommend Blue to everyone.

When the runs are quiet its nice to go to blue, but it can get quite busy during peak season. Run length and variety is nice, and one of the top places for Ontario

Ultimately... Super overpriced. Drive to Montreal or Buffalo instead. Is very busy, very expensive and not that many runs are open half the time. Just because it's the only bigish mountain in Ontario, they think they can charge the same as out west.

Located 2.5 hours away by car from Toronto, it is the best skiing option available in Ontario. The resort is compact, but enough to have great day. The hills are not very high, which means you can get to the base relatively quickly. Blue Mountain hosts many great events throughout the season, bringing DJs every Saturday. I can't wait to come back this winter!

Overall ok but very pricey and long wait for the lifts. So unaffordable that makes you think if better travel to the USA. So expensive in everything.

Blue mountain is a solid beginner/learner hill with approachable terrain. Unfortunately the business of the runs could pose a challenge to new riders, but for Ontario skiing it has good variety of runs.
With a small village at the base of the ski hill, there are plenty of dining and après ski options (and lots of shopping and activities for the non-skiers).
Overall a fine day out, but expect busy slopes, short runs, icy/marginal conditions and very long lift lines.

Great family place to go in Ontario. We dont have much by way of great mountains but Blue Mountain provides some great groomers and lots to do off the slopes no matter your age! Dont forget to check out the breweries in town of if there for a few days, eating a meal in thornbury close by is a delicious addition to the trip!

The ski school at blue was very accommodating for our youngest and now we are getting her ready to chase us around on the slopes!

Spent this past weekend there and have nothing bad to say about my experience. Definitely do your shopping for food and drinks outside of the village prior to going to save some money when cooking meals at your accommodations.

Been riding at a resort for years. It is one of the best in Ontario, but that isnt saying much

I recommend this resort to beginners and families while I would suggest people looking for more advanced stuff to venture out to Quebec or Vermont if not the West Coast

There are a decent amount of runs but the caveat is they are often only open in the peak season between January and March. Often the full mountain isnt operational until New Years has passed. They are investing more in snowmaking, but Often theres still poor coverage, One positive is that during peak season they perform midday grooming.

With regards to lifts: because of the small footprint, there is no redundancy Between different pods and thus parking. There is definitely a need to upgrade the silver bullet lift Given capacity constraints and reoccurring mechanical issues

Beyond the Skiing and riding itself, The village is awesome and very family friendly.

The hills are epic a little short I'll be honest but you have a couple beers it'll be a gnarly time. The village is a good chill and the beavertails at the top of the hill are unreal. Overall very decent place

Blue mountain is a good ski hill other than it being packed with tourists. This makes the hills vary hard to get that fresh power. But one tip if you like riding through trees its great because most of the tourists are beginners there is just not too many tree runs.

It I got a new snowboard I would love it because I am still rocking the old 1900 one.
