What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain attracts a wide range of visitors from beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers highlighting it as the largest and most accessible resort in Southern Ontario, particularly for those travelling from Toronto and the GTA. The village at the base receives consistent praise for its atmosphere, dining options, and additional activities beyond skiing. Reviewers repeatedly mention that weekdays offer a much better experience than weekends, when lift queues become significantly longer and crowds impact enjoyment. Snow conditions are variable, with artificial snowmaking maintaining coverage but reviewers frequently noting icy patches and limited natural powder. Pricing is a common criticism, with many users stating lift tickets, food, and accommodation are expensive relative to what the resort offers compared to larger destinations.

During the day is really nice, not to crowded which makes the slopes more enjoyable. Around 3pm it gets a little busier, but still ok. They have several slopes for every level so you can enjoy different rides within the same level range.

Good small resort two hours outside of Toronto. Very busy on weekends and expensive lift tickets without a season pass.
Accomodation is pricey especially on weekends. Nice village with restaurant and bar options.

I went for the first time for a lesson. The resort/mountain is very pretty, but I was very nervous. The general staff and my instructor were very friendly and put my nerves at ease. Despite not snowboarding a lot during my lesson. I had great fun and being at this resort really made me want to go back. I did only go for the day but the accommodation looked very clean and cozy.

Pretty average ski resort, lots of hotels and restaurants directly at rhe base of the mountain but no real apreski vibe going on.
Lifrs were fast and never had to wait too long but the moutain is also kind of small. Gret view from the top though.

This is a great, family friendly option. The two downfalls are of course over crowding and if there is snow. As of Dec 26th, 2024 there is a good amount for the start of the season, but with warmer weather hitting by the 30th, and rain, we will see what is left for January.
Make sure to purchase your ticket online to save a little money. Have a look at the maps of the runs you want to ski before you pick a parking lot. There may be some connecting runs open to get you where you want to go. Ill be going back with my family..weather permitting!

Blue Mountain is likely the best you're going to get if you live in Southern Ontario. It's the biggest hill within a day's drive, and boy do they make sure you pay them well for it.
Despite their ski village being so commercialized, very little investment has been done to the hill. They are still using old 6-8 person lifts, and high temperate snowmaking guns. They are consistently outclassed by smaller hills nearby in this category.
Overall, for being a ski hill in Ontario, it's a perfectly serviceable hill with enjoyable runs. Ownership by a multinational conglomerate will always result in high prices and low investment. I urge management to put some of their earnings back into the hill, which would improve snow conditions in Ontario's warming winter climate.

Its expensive if you dont plan ahead, so try to get your equipments, your seasonal pass. The transportation is alright if you know how to drive, since the public transportation is kinda expensive and will take longer to get there, you also have to pay fees for oversized luggage.

Medium sized hill, great for snowboarding and learning to ski. Not good for advanced skiers due to the lack of vertical.

Overall decent track to spend the day at . Hill is often crowed with beginners and can often cause long quenes and over conditions due to mild winters

Blue Mountain is not a big mountain but for local Ontario skiing/snowboarding it is pretty decent. It has a great ski village for apres ski and recreation besides skiing. Conditions can be a hit or miss depending on the weather that season - definitely not powder conditions. Overall good resort for basic skiers.

Extremely expensive resort with some nice hills. Eating out will be very expensive and isn't worth it, however with a seasons ticket it's worth it to go several times over the winter. Very family friendly and welcoming with some nice trails (i.e. Bruce trail), but also congested due to its popularity.

Blue mountain is decent for Ontario. But its a little bump compared to resorts in western Canada. There are great restaurants and hotels and its also beautiful in summer and fall. There are a lot of inexperienced skiers there and skiing Saturday and Sunday during days can be sketchy. The night skiing is much better.

A great resort with a selection of runs for all skier and snowboarder levels. Chair lifts are fast and efficient. Beautiful view from top of the hills and the atmosphere is fun and inviting. A great place to go with adults or with a family. The little village below is also great as there are many restaurants and shops to choose from.

The best place to ski in Ontario. The biggest hill in the province. The base village is amazing, it's worth a visit even if you don't ski or snowboard. Great European ski town aesthetic and lots of great restaurants, bars, nightclubs. The Apres Ski is top notch. The skiing can't compare to big mountain skiing but as mentioned earlier the best you will find in Ontario.

Being Ontario's largest ski hill comes with it's ups and downs. Weekends can be quite busy, so be prepared for longer lift line waits.

The village is nice to walk around after a day of skiing, but be prepared to pay a premium.

This year (24/25) they have instituted pay parking at the largest and busiest area..... Not a fan of that.

Overall average facilities. The lifts are alright but there are always lineups and it usually takes longer to get up a hill than down it. The terrain is no e bit the runs are short in comparison to some resorts on both the east and the west coast. Most trails connect but some connections are narrow and awkward. There are accommodations directly by the runs but the prices are on the higher side. There's a small village to explore for food and souvenirs. The best part of the resort is the late hours. It is open for night skiing most of the season so you can get the most out of a day on the slopes.
