What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain attracts a wide range of visitors from beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers highlighting it as the largest and most accessible resort in Southern Ontario, particularly for those travelling from Toronto and the GTA. The village at the base receives consistent praise for its atmosphere, dining options, and additional activities beyond skiing. Reviewers repeatedly mention that weekdays offer a much better experience than weekends, when lift queues become significantly longer and crowds impact enjoyment. Snow conditions are variable, with artificial snowmaking maintaining coverage but reviewers frequently noting icy patches and limited natural powder. Pricing is a common criticism, with many users stating lift tickets, food, and accommodation are expensive relative to what the resort offers compared to larger destinations.

Blue mountain is the worst, dont come here. Too busy, over priced, crap skiing. Village is ok. Just leave Ontario and go literally anywhere else in the world

Ok for Ontario skiing, although beware the crows at peak hours. Lifts are often updated and we'll maintained however the price of tickets has gone up significantly.....look for early season savings.

Blue Mountain is the main commercial resort serving the Greater Toronto area, and the best hill within 3 hours drive. They have invested a lot into lifts and snowmaking infrastructure, and put a lot of work into their parks and feautrues, all to make up for the fact that it is a small hill. The entire resort is laid out on a ridge, meaning there isn't a huge variety of terrain available, and you could reasonably ski every run in a day. On the bright side, it is great for beginners and families, and it often gets massive dumps of snow from the lake, so if you time your visit, you'll have a magical day. It is overpriced for what it is, because it is the largest resort within about 500 kms of Toronto - expect crowds.

If travelling to blue Mountain stay in the village, some places you can rent right next to the hills. The slopes are ok, its a good place if you live locally ( 2 hour drive max) its a good weekend getaway. Ive snowboarded here many times and always had a good experience.

A small but over developed resort 2 hours from Toronto. Not an actual mountain at all @ 720 ft vertical. It says 43 runs but its more like 12 with a terrain park and a lot of connector trails. Icy with a good view of Lake Huron. Sadly one of the best resorts Ontario has to offer!

Blue Mountain is decent, theres no other large resort on the area so it is what it is. At times the base area is overcrowded.

Aside from a couple of private clubs close by with limited access, Blue Mountain remains the best spot to ski in Ontario. It has the most challenging and numerous runs and the most varied and high quality off slope facilities and activities. Theyve expanded food and drink options to include a fun open air bar at the top with live dj and fire pits and continue to run their ice skating trail up there and their alpine coaster down at the village. I love that theres parking options at the top and bottom of the mountain. It does get crowded on weekends and holidays, but weekday skiing, especially in the morning, is usually lovely and quiet. Their use of snow making equipment during the day is my biggest complaint, but the days when they are not running it are very nice, especially with fresh snow, of course. Start on the north side to get the most challenging runs in early when the slopes are fresh. South side is most family friendly with runs for the whole family including those ready to leave the bunny hills for the first time. This is Ontario, so theres not a lot of glades and mogul runs, but there are a few here. Enjoy Ontarios premier skiing destination, I know I do whenever the conditions are good and I get the chance!

Stay in the village if you can. Many options based on budget and the convenience of ski in ski out. Highly recommend the Westin - pool, hot tub, ski locker access and parking. Great for families to come and go ( we are a family of four with two teens) and easily coordinate apres ski. The ski village has a fun vibe with many options for dining and shops to explore.

Ive been going to blue mountain since I was a child. Love the slopes however one thing that has been extremely difficult is the belt on the first two slopes. The beginner one is so crowded and the line is so long I walk up the slope and reach the top before the belt does.
