What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain attracts a wide range of visitors from beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers highlighting it as the largest and most accessible resort in Southern Ontario, particularly for those travelling from Toronto and the GTA. The village at the base receives consistent praise for its atmosphere, dining options, and additional activities beyond skiing. Reviewers repeatedly mention that weekdays offer a much better experience than weekends, when lift queues become significantly longer and crowds impact enjoyment. Snow conditions are variable, with artificial snowmaking maintaining coverage but reviewers frequently noting icy patches and limited natural powder. Pricing is a common criticism, with many users stating lift tickets, food, and accommodation are expensive relative to what the resort offers compared to larger destinations.

Excellent hill and such a great group of staff - all so friendly and funny. Best hill if youre looking for a good time. Good party vibes - family friendly but this is a drinking resort.

Honestly, this review may be a tad biased. I have a special place in my heart for Blue Mountain as this is where I learned to ski. It is absolutely unmatched in terms of picturesque views. I also cannot say enough good things about the ski school - the group I was in progressed quite quickly and by the end of my 3/4 days in the school it had turned into a more technical class at the beginner-intermediate level as opposed to the newbie course we started. While it tends to be quite expensive it is worth every single penny, the combination that is a vast range of runs, unique and amazing scenery, a top notch ski school, and great vibe/ feel to the whole place. The place is a must visit for everyone if possible.

Largest ski resort in Ontario, roughly 2h drive from Toronto.
Tried to do the best with the vertical (under 200m) available but you can ski every run in one day so wanderers will quickly be bored.
Express lifts all around but one should avoid Saturdays as lift lines are gigantic.
Resort is owned by Alterra (Ikon Pass), food is very expensive...

Well maintained, lots to do on and off the hill. Busy on weekends, but lots of lifts to manage people. Limited variety, short runs, beautiful views. Great place if you are looking for an overall experience.

Blue is a hill not a mountain! Prepare yourself for overcrowded lift lines to ride 500 vertical ft over and over again. Seems like a lot of time and money is spent on the village itself, and not the ski hill or snowmakin.

That being said its a fun weekend trip with friends, but if youre looking to actually ski or board, this isnt the resort for you.

Great variety of slopes for all abilities. Lift capacity is excellent. Ski school is great and Rory Ring is the best instructor on the mountain.

When there's a good layer of snow and most/all of the trails are open it's a great hill for all levels. However, the last two years I went there, the weather wasn't great and very few trails were open. This caused a backup in the lines for the ski lifts and trails very crowded. With good conditions, it's a great hill. With bad conditions, ots not worth the money. Village is nice though and great for all families.

Have bought 5x7 passes here for a couple years, the 5x7 is the greatest value in my opinion. All Terrain Parks are nice with areas catered towards beginners, intermediates, and expert Park riders. Snow accumulation is not great, and the lack of a large vertical as well as off piste skiing is lacking, however Id say Blue Mountain is the best option if youre skiing in Ontario.

Found the snow heavy and tough to ski at times but with all the rain it was expected. Majority if hill was well taken care of lifts were very quick even thought it was very busy at the lifts. All employees were friendly and great to deal with.

For Ontario skiing it is one of the better options available, good for learning and good for families with young kids. If you are an advanced skier/rider you will be bored by the terrain and annoyed by the long lines.

I have skied at blue mountain a few times overall it has good skiing with decent runs, and a fun village (lots of family friendly places) that has been built up over time. Main drawbacks is the lines (but the more aggressive runs are quieter) and parking

I had a great time, it's not the largest or most advanced mountain, but the prices certainly reflect that. You get your bang for your buck!

Blue mountain is one of the best resorts in Ontario. Very large ski area. Although can be very busy around the holidays. Very expensive and lots of beginners on the slopes.
