What Skiers Say About Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain attracts a wide range of visitors from beginners through to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with many reviewers highlighting it as the largest and most accessible resort in Southern Ontario, particularly for those travelling from Toronto and the GTA. The village at the base receives consistent praise for its atmosphere, dining options, and additional activities beyond skiing. Reviewers repeatedly mention that weekdays offer a much better experience than weekends, when lift queues become significantly longer and crowds impact enjoyment. Snow conditions are variable, with artificial snowmaking maintaining coverage but reviewers frequently noting icy patches and limited natural powder. Pricing is a common criticism, with many users stating lift tickets, food, and accommodation are expensive relative to what the resort offers compared to larger destinations.

One of the best resort in Ontario Canada. The staff is great, very accommodating. Only 2 hours away from Toronto. Parking is hard to find one weekend. Overall is one of best in Ontario.

Very solid resort for a beginner snowboarder. Rope lift bunny hills are a bit crowded for grasping the basica but there are a good amount of easy greens to get a better hold on using your edges and linking turns. Good variety of blue runs with rougher terrain and bumps to smooth steep groomed runs for speed and carves. Aside from the runs, Blue Mountain village houses a plethora of food options (a bit on the pricy side) and social life even throughout late night to early morning.

For Ontario its the best bet, just overcrowded on weekends and weather has made the last couple seasons not great. Village is fun to hang out with friends at, lots of good food options and the mini golf in the summer is killer!

Conveniently located north of Toronto, about an hour and half or two drive depending on traffic, has a great ski resort with lots of slopes to choose from. With season pass it makes it affordable but the daily lift ticket may be a bit daunting for some.

Word of caution however, is that the slopes are rated less than the actual terrain. Some blues feel like it should be black diamonds.

Great uphill loading capacity so while the runs make be shorter you can most certainly enjoy plenty of laps. Great mix of beginner to expert pitch on the groomers. Lacks tree runs due to minimal natural snowfall but has great progression features within their terrain parks.

Resort is very nice with lots of options for eating and shopping but the slope conditions could use some improvement compared to surrounding resorts.

Large resort with an unmatched selection of runs compared to other ski hills in the area. Great apres ski restaurants and accommodations. Family chalets can be rented nearby. Nothing beats a tough day on the hill followed by a drink and hot tub.

Its the best option for anyone in the GTA the hills are well maintained and offers thrill for every level of skier the only problem would be the inconsistency in the weather which I cant even blame on them

Solid resort for where its located. Nothing to compare to the west mountains but fun place. But overpriced for what it is though. Go on a weekday its a ghost town, but stay away on weekends.

Blue mountains main challenge is size and value. They are the only show in town for public Ontario resorts that are worth going to. As such the common exorbitantly out of line prices, and underdeliver on value given the short 2-4 minutes runs the hill is made up of.

Lift tickets are dynamically priced and can be typically expected to be $120-$150 on weekends.

Blue mountain is great place for riders of all kinds. There is something for everyone. If you are not a boarder or skier, they have other activities to do there. There is much selection when it comes to restaurants with in the resort. You would have to drive back out towards the town.

5x7 pass has great value if you plan on skiing here several times. Parks and tree runs are good when theres enough snow and end of year activities like pond skims are great and well organized. Can get busy during peak hours, but the night skiing typically has short lift lines if any. Great place for family vacations in Ontario but the lack of verticality and terrain does not compare to resorts out west. Very chill community as well, great vibes if youre looking for a local resort in southern Ontario.

Convenient for a day trip from Toronto.

Can be very icy and lacking in powder.

Lifts can be far apart and hard to walk / ski between.

Very busy on weekends.

Terrain is not massively varied and the runs are very short.

Blue mountain is the biggest ski resort you will get in Ontario with a ton of options whether is going there to ski, shop, eat, and etc. Anything you can think of for entertainment they basically have. Lots of terrain and runs to ski in. Not only do they have winter stuff but they also have a many different things to do in the summer as well. I would 100% recommend going there.
