What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

I absolutely love this mountain, I grew up doing ski lessons here for about 4 years. Then ventured off on my own, which allowed me to explore how amazing the terrain parks are and how fun tree runs are. There is so much to do and so many hidden gems. Definitely check out the crystal hut for the most amazing waffles!

Whistler is worth the hype. With all mountains of this size conditions are everything and out of the control of the resort. It rained for 3 days before I got there but I still had an amazing experience. You will not beat the views here anywhere in the world, and even with the rain the team did a good job to groom down the snow to make the runs as best as they could be. It is expensive, but the amount of skiing you can do and the views are something you need to experience.

Some of the most incredible views with what feels like unlimited terrain. You can spend and entire day on either Whistler or Blackcomb and not have enough time to see the full mountain. Unfortunately the cost has become extravagant and it is teeming with people. Not only are you paying $300 for 1 day lift ticket, but you then get to spend most of that day in massive lines for both the gondolas and the lifts. Not to mention you’re paying $30 per person for a sub-par meal at any of the chalets on the mountain. Vails purchase of the mountain unfortunately was the beginning of the end for what was my favourite ski resort.

I’ve visited a few times. The set up is awesome and because the mountains are so huge with the bowls as well it never feels overcrowded. There’s lots of really gentle beginner slopes if you’re learning and of course the double diamonds if you’re not!
The powder is unreal - typically dry unlike the wet European slopes.
The pedestrianised village makes you feel safe and there’s loads of restaurants to chose from.
Whistler is my favourite resort and would go back in a heartbeat. Didn’t get any altitude sickness here either.

Skiing and powder days in Whistler are unmatched! Especially if you are advanced and can head off-piste and/or into backcountry to enjoy it to its full potential. So much territory to explore. Lift lines are long on weekends with weekdays being much better. Fun apres if you like more casual style live music pants good pints and just enjoy time with friends. If not hit longhorns for the full patio apres party. Expensive in peak season but worth it for powder days and good snow.

The mountain can be icy especially at the top of the mountain so it can be more difficult for those who are still learning or aren’t completely confident in their skills. The village has so many stores and restaurants it’s always full of life. And if you want to cut your ski day short there’s always other activities to do.

Amazing back country, lines are often very long. If you want some amazing tree runs, and you are not skiing alone go to million dollar ridge. Experts only!

It was great to visit Whistler! The mountain is obviously an incredible location, but I think I like many other others would say that it is definitely too expensive for what it is. If it was cheaper would be incredible.

Lots of terrain but busy. Lifts can't support the volume of traffic and long queues are common. The village is fun but can be expensive

Too expensive and massive line ups. Also because snow wasn’t the best there, not all runs were open. Also very long queues to come down as skiing all the way down wasn’t possible

First time skiing in Whistler and although the green runs are way harder than the ones in Europe there are still some fantastic runs from the top of the mountain to the village. Burnt Stew is particularly beautiful when the lift is open to allow you to get there.

I was in Whistler during early season. Few rainy days at the start. Got much better towards the end. That place is pricey however, with a single day lift ticket costing up to 350 dollars. Outrageously long lines once the snow was better. Definitely a beautiful mountain
