What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

Whistler Blackcomb is the ULTIMATE snow playground. With more runs to ski than you can count over TWO mountains it’s the best place to go in North America. Have been many times and always keen to go back it’s that’s good. Blue bird days or white out flurries it’s always a fun time on the slopes. Would recommend for anyone of any level a MUST.

Empty pistes, especially on Blackcomb Mountain. Snow quality was excellent. Queues started building around 11, but if you get up the mountain early and do not take the Whistler gondola, it is much more efficient. Great tree runs and lots of double black diamonds - not all were open, unfortunately. Overall, great resort, would recommend.

Overall the experience at Whilster Blackcomb was great. The weather and conditions were not the best, but with that said I would definitely come back. The back bowls were the highlight of the trip. And whistler village itself is very nice to hangout at after skiing.

Fantastic family resort that has an epic amount of terrain for all skill level types that kept all members of the family happy. The weather was spring like conditions and we found it best to ski Whistler in the morning and Blackcomb in the afternoon. My 4 year old loved the slides at the magic castle on blackcomb and wanted to keep going back. The ziptrek tour is awesom and well worth doing as a non skiing activity and my favourite place to eat and drink was Dubh Linn Gate irish bar. The sharers are massive and could feed four, perfect location to rest for a couple of hours after a day on the slopes.

Whistler Blackcomb is a top tier mountain for on and off piste skiing. From mellow groomed line and float powder fields to multi drop showcase features and cornices it’s the most varied location with twin mountain peaks linked by the Peak2Peak Gondola. Lodges and his are filled with food, snacks and drinks, if you’re too busy shredding to stop. Send it for an Après-Ski banger at pretty much any bar, lounge or pub and library/art gallery. Check out the lakes nearby and go bungee jumping, zip line and heli/cat ski all over, cheers

Amazing large area to ski. Both Blackcombe and Whistler mountains offer massive ski terrain and variety. The off piste is amazing with truly legendary runs. Huge choice of accommodation from luxury to budget. Flights with air Canada are great and include free ski carriage. Only a 2 hour transfer from Vancouver airport through some amazing scenery. The people are friendly and helpful and the snow is a special quality that you will remember skiing in and through for many years.

Best mountain in North America, try to come midweek to avoid the lift lines on the weekend. Get in line 1 to 2 hours before lift opening on a powder day.

January 2026 synopsis.
Heavy rains to the peaks then froze with sun and icy conditions for the next 12 days. Now raining to mid station and snowing in the alpine but all high alpine lifts are closed due to 120 km winds today Jan 30. Climate change is real. Winters are unpredictable. Vail should sell Whistler back to a Canadian eh!

Whistler is an awesome resort, the town is Huge and there are a lot of shops and restaurants for the evenings.

When we went there hadn't been much fresh snow so the backcountry and off-piste wasn't in great condition but there was still plenty to ski and do. all the runs were kept in really good condition and there was snowmaking to ensure snow coverage was kept to a decent quality.

The views are insane, just Vast and beautiful. Absolutely worth a trip out there. It's very different to European resorts which makes it feel like an entirely different experience.

The people around the resort, shop attendants and staff generally were so polite and really helpful very much felt like people in Canada are generally very lovely.

We will be going back.

Wonderful experience for my first time on a big mountain. Plenty of runs to pick from for a beginner. The Apres was outstanding, all actual skiers and no posers! Can't wait to go back!

Whistler and Blackcomb Mountain are great as there’s tons of runs! However the weekends are crowded. I’d recommend going up on weekdays for no lineups!

Had two quiet days of skiing on a Monday/Tuesday. There was zero wait times and weather was nice, however the conditions were lacking. Most runs were pretty icy and it’s overall not been a great year so far. I’m hoping for a few storms to bring a bunch more snow for the rest of the season.

Accommodation and food is generally pricey, same as any other ski town to be fair. There’s a few really good food options and some great coffee and beer. Peaked Pies, Purebread, Whistler Brewing and Portobello are all some of my go-to’s.

Overall, Whistler is beautiful and lovely to visit. Conditions kind of suck right now but we still had a great two days there!
