What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

Beautiful town, great choice of restaurants and bars. Loved the peak to peak gondola and the umbrella bar at the top of the Whistler gondola. Snow conditions weren’t great when we were there but it’s a huge mountain so lots of terrain options and still had a great day of skiing.

The resort isn't paying staff enough to live there, so a couple restaurants were closed entirely due to lack of staff.

They must have been on a skeleton crew for grooming too because half of Blackcomb was covered in moguls my entire visit which was disappointing. Still managed to find lots to do, lots to ski, lots to eat and drink. Even when it's at the lowest I've ever seen this resort, it still feels like home.

Whistler & Blackcomb are amazing mountains in a beautiful resort, however it's very busy & expensive. I'd hold off until the Gondola replacement has been completed.

Since my first ski at Whistler in 2022, i have loved going there every year since. The 5-day edge card is the best option to enjoy the resort as the season pass or 1 day pass is quite expensive. Please bring your own lunch if you dont want to eat unhealthy, expensive, meager portions in the restaurants. The slopes are wonderful so do have an early start as some lifts tend to have a wait time of 30mins or so.

Lift tickets have increased substantially and crowding and waits at lift have also increased. Starting to get to point that better to go elsewhere, I live in Vancouver and while not only spot, basically learned to ski at Whistler (before Blackcomb was a ski hill).

Huge resort. Just very expensive for lift passes and accommodation at peak times. Avoid weekends as there are a lot of local visitors. Weekdays are much quieter.

Big resort. So much variety to ski. Big alpine with lots of steeps and off piste. This was a low snow year, so my ratings for powder and off piece were low. But you could see how it would be awesome in a normal year. Definitely the premier resort in North America.

Honestly this place blew me away. Everything about Whistler Blackcomb was amazing and it felt special right from the start. The views are unreal, like stop you in your tracks unreal. Every lift ride i caught myself just staring around instead of checking my phone, it never got old.

The slopes were incredible. Tons of variety and something for everyone whether you want long cruisy runs or steeper runs. The mountain is so big that even when it was busy it never felt chaotic. Snow was in great shape and everything was easy to get to, which made the days fly by way too fast.

Apres was just as good as the skiing. Whistler Village has such a fun energy after a day on the mountain. Great drinks, great food. It’s one of those places where you plan to have one drink and somehow it turns into a whole night.

I stayed with a mate who was doing a ski season, but had friends in hotels etc and they said it was great.

Overall it’s hard not to looooove this place. Views, slopes, apres all top tier. Not quite perfect but pretty close, and i would go back in a heartbeat no question.

We need more snow! The current conditions are very spring and lower mountains are sparse. Whistler is a lovely town to visit.

The mountains themselves are great fun,
Lots of space to play...
Once you're up.
Getting on the gondola can be a bit of a zoo on the weekends.

10/10 during the week.

Visited there for my first season. It was a rough start to winter with a lack of snow but the runs were still good. As the mountain opened up with more snow things got a lot better and could discover a hell of a lot more of the two mountains would highly recommend

Whistler is top notch. The hills are always well kept and even if the snow hasn’t fallen recently, it’s still top quality. The Village after your ski day is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy yourself. 10/10.

It’s an amazing resort! So much fun, so much terrain. It sometimes gets too warm in winter due to proximity to the ocean but still fun regardless. Downside is it’s a very expensive town but beautiful.

Snow is hard packed. Temperatures are rising and visibility wasn't great. Hopefully they get a storm or two before the end of season.

Beautiful resort. Pricey but well worth the visit. Aprez ski pubs/were great! The hotel was a hike to the gondola but shuttle was available. Snow was fair, but not the best winter in Canada.

I have done 3 winter seasons now in whistler and it’s just beautiful! A trip to Whistler Black-comb isn’t just about the skiing, it’s about the full experience; the bars, the food, the people! People may complain about the inconsistency of the snow, but people have to remember that’s not the resorts fault! The mountain itself if one of the biggest resorts, and provides an exceptional array of terrain. No matter what skill level you are, there are runs for you! They also have extensive teaching programs and a full learning bunny hill on both mountains to ensure beginner safety. I highly recommend Whistler as a top winter destination, and recommend seasonal work here too!!!
