What Skiers Say About Whistler Blackcomb

Whistler Blackcomb attracts skiers and snowboarders across all ability levels, from beginners to experts. Reviewers consistently praise the massive skiable terrain across two mountains, the variety of runs including off-piste and tree skiing, and the efficient lift system connecting Whistler and Blackcomb via the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. Snow conditions are frequently mentioned as variable, with several users noting rain at lower elevations, icy patches, and inconsistent coverage depending on the season. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high costs for lift tickets, accommodation, food, and dining both on and off the mountain. Lift queues, particularly on weekends and peak times, are a common complaint, with waits of 20-40 minutes reported at busy periods.

I was there with the family mid December and we were lucky enough to have some good snow! Unfortunately in was pouring rain for 2 of our 3 days of skiing, but what's great is that once you get up high enough it's just snow. Even though we had to dry all of our clothing after the ski days, it was a great trip.

Blackcomb was by far the biggest ski resort available. Its essentially like its own City just at the bottom of the lift! With that being said, its best to go during the right weather as anything too warm can cause the snow lower down the mountain to be quite choppy.

Whistler Blackcomb might be my favorite ski resort in the world. Amazing variety of terrain, great vertical, amazing restaurants, nice hotels, and a great apres ski scene makes it a great choice for all types of riders.

It's only weakness is lack of snow. On a powder day it may be the best ski experience in the world, but it can rain often leading to slushy snow or little snow due to the warmth.

Very long wait lines and expensive as hell, but really big resort with lots of great terrain to ski and although the lifts close pretty early (around 3 pm) a nice resort.

This is maybe the only resort that Ive been to where they do an insane amount of avalanche control to allow anyone the chance to be a free ride shredder. The available terrain is amazing, you can genuinely ski right from the very peaks and pretty much go anywhere off piste to find powder, and everyone does! Absolutely every part of this mountain.. I should say mountains because you get access to two huge mountains on your day pass, and the Peak 2 Peak (look it up its cool). gets ridden and it can be challenging to find an untouched line anywhere some days if you arent there first thing. If you want to stay on piste too, the runs are great. Tends to be where the less experienced go and it can be busy so I personally avoid It, but overall. Only downfall is the resort can be very busy, and lift lines can be long, especially on a pow day. Parking is a nightmare unless youre there early. Whistler as a whole has world class service everywhere you go. There are not as many sweet apres spots as I would like and none are on the mountain like they have in Europe. Longhorn would maybe be the closest thing to a European apres bar scene but they dont do a the best job of it. I would hit up Merlins at the base of Blackcomb or Dustys at the base whistler creekside for an authentically Canadian apres scene at a busy resort. Although I am sad to say Dustys recently changed the price of their amazing giant nachos to $60 which is outrageous. If you wanna ski in Whis and not spend a lot of money bring a lunch! Anyway Im sure youll have an unreal time here regardless!

The chair lift line ups are unbearable! Less time skiing, more time lining up on chair lifts. Its a party town and the Apres are great! Tons of restaurants to choose from and lots of shops to shop! Prepare to spend your money!!! I love the village. I use to look forward to going to Purebread when we ski Whistler. Aside from being expensive, its a fun place to be

I have loads to say about Whistler Blackcomb so here are some bullet points for planning your trip.

- Biggest resort in North America, you will have the best time skiing as there is so much terrain.
- Views are awesome.
- There are hundreds of groomed runs and if you want to go off piste there is heaps to explore.
- There are accommodation options in both Blackcomb and Whistler Village which are ski in ski out but most places you can walk to in the town even if it doesnt say ski in ski out.
- Creekside is quieter for nightlife but there is free parking at this gondola. Dustys pub is awesome but the queues are generally shorter here.
- As soon as the lifts open for Harmony Ridge or Peak go up as its awesome.
- Expensive day passes, side note - if you want to ski in Whistler Blackcomb and want to save money on a ski pass buy an Edge Card before the season actually starts its so much cheaper.
- Queues are very long and ok a powder day can be about 2-3 hours in line this is on both Whistler and Blackcomb. If you are able to avoid skiing on the weekend youll have a much better time as there are usually no queues on the weekdays.
If you are skiing one day, ski Whistler in the morning and take the gondola to Blackcomb and ski there in the afternoon
- There is no night skiing.
- Lifts say they open at 9am but be there for 8am as they usually start loading people in the gondola as its awesome to get fresh lines.
- Apex is awesome, longhorns is the most popular but super expensive. Go to Dubh Linn, there is always live music and its good fun.

Ohhhhhh the joys of coming here! Wish it wasnt such a luxury to get to Whistler. Unfortunately the cost is high to do anything in Canada so your money doesnt go as far! However what do you expect with action sports ‍️ 10/10 spot for any team, family holiday! Runs for all different levels.

Skiing in Whistler is incredible by the quality of the resort, the size, and the conditions. The one thing is that the cost to do so has gotten ridiculously expensive throughout the years. Other than that, I'd thoroughly recommend skiing in Whistler.

Staying in Blackcomb for an extended weekend of skiing is like transporting yourself to a festival of winter with an unbelievable collection of runs, conditions and vistas followed by unending apres, the kind of parties you see in films.
From dawn to dawn and dusk to dusk, there will be something about every moment that will make you want to return to the mountains for another weekend with different conditions, different bands but the same friends.

Great resort ski instructed there for a season and it was the time of my life. Really good for people to expand there steeps and powder riding with some of the best double blacks in the world. Cons are that it is very busy and there can be lots of queues

The amount of terrain on Whistler Blackcomb feels unlimited. During the week, the lines are empty unless you get a proper pow day (15+cm). Weekends are a different question and tend to be very busy. The food and beer is expensive up the mountain, but there's plenty of apres deals you can find down the mountain. Since it's two mountains, you don't ever have to ski the same run and can get your fill of everything from groomers to trees or off piste skiing. I personally think it's more worth it to get an edge card or a seasons pass, the day passes are simply not worth it, and there is no way you'd be able to fully experience the mountain skiing in one day anyway!
