What Skiers Say About Sun Peaks

Sun Peaks attracts primarily intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with families being a significant visitor group. Reviewers consistently highlight the large terrain spread across three mountains, minimal lift queues even during peak periods, and exceptionally well-groomed runs. The resort is described as quiet and uncrowded compared to other BC destinations, with a small pedestrian village offering ski-in/ski-out accommodation. Common criticisms centre on limited restaurant options requiring advance booking, lack of vibrant nightlife or après-ski atmosphere, and variable snow conditions with some seasons experiencing rain or thin coverage. Several users note the resort can feel over-groomed for those seeking powder.

Sunpeak is a intermediate mountain and second largest in BC. Great resort, less people that means less line up. Trails are wide and very well groomed! Perfect for carving.
Tree run is fun but need some local take you to there.
If Sunpeak has night ski would be much better.Big white has a better Terrain Park than Sunpeak, but Sunpeaks park is not bad at all.

2nd largest ski area in Canada well groomed runs lots of terrain for all and activities to do apres skiing from ice skating to axe throwing . Ski school is excellent taught my children during our first vacation there. We have going for over 16 years. Rocky Mountain chocolate shop is worth a visit and mountain high pizza. If going for more than 8 days look at buying a season lift pass before end of June for following winter season. Lots of shops to hire and demo equipment and with season pass resort owns stores give a discount that also includes resort run dining places as well. Cafeteria at top of the mountain is good for snacks but havent found a fault with any of the restaurants. New lift due to be installed to allow more access to gils this summer. Already planning next years vacation

Sun Peaks offers an expansive and varied terrain that caters to skiers of all skill levels - from beginner slopes to challenging black diamonds. With three distinct mountains:, youll never get bored as each one has its own vibe and unique experience. The village is very charming and features a variety of shops and accommodations, from luxury hotels to cozy lodges and apartments. The resort is the second-largest ski area in Canada and so you never feel crowded on the trails as there is plenty of space for skiers to spread out. I highly recommend Sun Peaks as a premier ski destination for the entire family.

We recently spent 6 weeks at Sun Peaks for a bucket list ski vacation. At no time did we feel bored or tired of the mountain. There are multiple trail options for all levels from long easy greens to beautiful blue tree runs and some exhilarating blacks.

Even though the weather this 2023/2024 season has not been ideal \, the mountain ops team did a wonderful job with their grooming to work with what they had.

There of plenty of dining options in the quaint village and although there are not many hotels, we were able to book a longer term rental through one of their management companies.

All in all, Sun Peaks is a great mountain for all ski levels and I would highly recommend it.

De parking at the burfield makes alpine access much better and with a new chair coming in 24/25 season the alpin will be expanding. Very dog friendly resort and starting to see businesses that make it a self sufficient town. The hills, Juniper Ridge are where its at but the real gems are the hidden trees down low that are off map..

Sun Peaks offers something for everyone, from never-ever to competitive ski teams. You can ski with music, dance on the slope or rip it up, you will always leave with a smile.
The ski school caters to all, children or adult, private or group. It also has an adaptive sport school that allows anyone to discover and enjoy skiing.
The views from all 3 mountains will take your breath away, and, of course, the staffs smiles will most definitely make you forget the dark thoughts you may have had coming in.

A beautiful gem in the interior of BC

Great family resort with a lot of options for every level of skier. The terrain park is awesome for those looking to air it out or hit the rails and boxes. Lift lines are generally small especially during the week

I have been skiing at Sun peaks for about 5 years now and it is overall a great mountain. Little bit outside of the city, but the drive is worth it. If your in the sun peaks area definitely worth checking out!

Sun Peaks is a very family focused mountain. If you are a beginner or expert there is terrain everywhere for you to ski.

The unique ski through village is amazing allowing you to stop at shops on your way to the lift or to grab a coffee from the many amazing cafes.

After a hard day of skiing there are amazing bars that offer apres. If you want the busy party atmosphere head to Bottoms right at the bottom of the lifts. Or somewhere you can sit down and be cozy. Head up to Cahilty Creek just off the Gentle Giant run.

I cant put into words how much of an enjoyable experience Sun Peaks is. No lift line or crowds and long runs with amazing grooming or powder.

Make sure to get yourself up here in British Columbia.

One of the best resorts in the BC interior. Tons of terrain and runs. Tons of open runs, tight moguls and expansive glades. Some of the best groomed runs I have ever been on.

Super great all around resort, steep enough for advanced, flat enough for beginners and families. The park is amazing and always well kept. Food is always a highlight thanks to Mountain High Pizza and Joes Poutine. Highly recommend!

I live in sunpeaks overall the resort is really good lots to do in the winter and great skiing I freestyle ski so I prefer the terrain park over all mountain. The sunpeaks park has its ups and downs the xl jumps are really good and the jumps over all are good but we do lack on rails.

This place is awesome!
3 mountains to choose from, easy terrain to get beginners going but some intense runs for the more advanced skier. The gils are powder heaven and the off-piste tree runs are a blast.
With the busiest day of the year last week and the queues for the lift never exceeding 10 mins, this place allows you to get plenty of runs in.
Highly recommend!
