What Skiers Say About Sun Peaks

Sun Peaks attracts primarily intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with families being a significant visitor group. Reviewers consistently highlight the large terrain spread across three mountains, minimal lift queues even during peak periods, and exceptionally well-groomed runs. The resort is described as quiet and uncrowded compared to other BC destinations, with a small pedestrian village offering ski-in/ski-out accommodation. Common criticisms centre on limited restaurant options requiring advance booking, lack of vibrant nightlife or après-ski atmosphere, and variable snow conditions with some seasons experiencing rain or thin coverage. Several users note the resort can feel over-groomed for those seeking powder.

Booked with ski can and got great value for cost. Only thing is the village is quite small with not many restaurants so you need to book reservations for dinner. But otherwise love it!

An incredible ski resort with a huge variety spread across incredible mountain scenes. Friendly staff, good village vibe. Terrain park is well maintained. Not very busy Vs the amount space you have across the mountain.

It was really nice. It was earlier in the season so the park wasn’t fully made yet but I’ve seen it before and it’s amazing. Very big and well rounded. Very family friendly.

Sun Peaks is a nice place to visit, the snow is usually pretty good. It can be cold. But you can make use of the warming hut at the top of the world. There’s something for everyone. Apres ski is a little lacking, would love to see more nightlife.

I did a whole season out in sunpeaks. One of my favourite mountains, it’s got a lovely balance of family friendliness and young people having fun. A very wholesome mountain. Many bluebird days and freshly groomed runs. Lifts only stopped if the weather wasn’t suitable! I’d love to go back!

I quite like Sun Peaks but I feel like I'm biased since I've been skiing here my whole life. I started skiing at Sun Peaks since my parents first let me go on skis when I was three years old. It is the perfect ski hill for family skiing, with lots of good green and blue runs, it makes for enjoyable skiing for the whole family to have. It also has some great black and double black diamond runs that would even expert skiers would enjoy as well. With many lifts within the resort area, there is something for everyone to explore and enjoy. With a fantastic, true ski in- ski out village and nice hotels with good restaurants and cafes, it a no brainer to make Sun Peaks one destination for a family of any age to come and enjoy.

It’s a huge ski hill with amazing amenities. It has way more than enough space and excitement for every level of skier/snowboarder. Went with my friend and repeatedly mentioned that we each thought “how was I ever sad before”.

The views are wonderful. There are about 6-7 different sides of different mountains. You can chase the sun all day by changes which mountain you go on. So spaced out that it’s not busy

Sun Peaks is an excellent family friendly resort. It offers lots of resort style terrain with extensive groomed runs. Off Piste and Tree runs are somewhat limited. Lift lines are never an issue and even on busier weekends you won’t wait long. Village offers ample dining opportunities and Bottoms is a great place to Apres.

Second year in a row. Family friendly resort. Large area allows for large amount of sjiers without crowding. Lineups only before first chair in morning.
Mostly groomed runs. Mix of blue and blacks. Reccomend intermediate to advanced levels. Could use some more capacity of restaurants. Reccomend reservations. Bars available and decent grocery stores. If not staying in hotel in village then air bnb is super popular.

Sun Peaks is a fabulous mountain for families.
Short waits for lifts. So many runs, you will feel like you are on your own private mountain.
Restaurants are good, though very crowded at lunch time. Great options for eating bagged lunch, indoor or out.
Great apres vibes, lots of things to do outside of alpine or Nordic skiing- snowshoeing, dogsled tours, snowmobile tours, village sleigh rides.
