Amazing big mountain terrain, when it's open! Treed ridges are amazing skiing but take a bit of traversing to get to. Great snow quality when the right storm rolls through.

Fernie is an awesome resort. Specially for freeeide. There is many steep runs, drops and lots of snow. It lacks in park features as there is only a big rail park. So if rails is your jam, Fernie is for you. They also have a fun ski cross track and pretty fun tree runs. The food is good and price is to be expected however there are many good food places in the town of fernie. Would recommend to family skiers or people who want a fun and big free ride feel

Im from Fernie BC and have been skiing since I was five Id say the new side of the ski hill is better than the old side. Fernie is full of powder and jumps. The terrain park needs work but the grooming and powder completely compensate for it

If I could only ski one resort it would be Fernie. On a powder day there is nothing like it. The town is friendly and interesting and the on hill accommodation is great.

We love Fernie! Unfortunately we never seem to get there during powder season, but spring skiing here is great!

While a bit steep on some of the upper runs for the kids, there is a wide variety of manageable blue and green runs that they can spend the day exploring while the adults can pop over to the Timber Bowl or Cedar Bowl or other favorites. We love that there is beginner trees for the kids to learn and explore as well.

We have not stayed on the resort as our family cabin is nearby but have heard many great things and the town of Fernie itself is fantastic!

Fernie was such a blast! There are a bunch of bowls to enjoy, so it never felt too crowded. The mountain itself is beautiful, the glades are not too narrow so even as an intermediate skier it was fun to go through the trees. The resort is a 5 minute drive from the town so its super easy to find accommodation and stay nearby.

A lovely, friendly and very quiet resort with plenty of powder.
There's not much going on at resort but the local town has some decent bars and restaurants.
It's such a great place I've been twice, despite living in the UK!

I am an avid skier from the prairies, I know sounds wierd. Fernie is a quick drive into the Rockys and offers world class snow and big mountain terrain. Some of my best days have been at fernie. If you are looking for a park, I would recommend going somewhere else because there is only a handful of rails. If jumps are your thing, there is plenty of natural features to catch some air.

Fernie is a fantastic resort but the snow is extremely condition dependent - it regularly goes from hard pack and ice to a massive powder day. It gets very little sun, so on icy days you need to know where to go in order to find soft snow.

Fernie boasts some amazing freeride terrain. Polar Peak is amazing but its not open often.

The major downsides of Fernie include no jumps in the terrain park and high ticket cost. Other than that, fantastic resort.

Yous have done well
Gotta get jumps back which would be sick and some storms soon.
Get bigger rails and more of them
And speed up the chairlifts and get rid of ticket checkers and put the scan machines in

What makes Fernie unique is its five bowls are spread horizontally across the mountain. You can typically get up to the upper mountain areas quickly but are still able to make your way across the mountain to the other bowls with only one or two lift rides. When it snows a lot, there are tons of ungroomed runs and glades to get fresh snow and lots of powder stashes to find the next day. Highly recommend Fernie!

Big mountain with a variety of terrain for all abilities. In the later season warm weather tends to make the mountain slushier than other options so best to come in January or February.

Great ski hill and town. Best in Canada in my opinion! Snow is fantastic unless the rain comes (only downfall). But still seens to snow up top. Give me the skis as mine are from 2005. Please!

Fernie has amazing snow when the weather is goodgreat advanced terrain and bottomless powder. The altitude of the base is low however and often snow in the alpine is less solid down lower.

Some of the best powder skiing Ive had and also some scratched days or days where you gotta stay up high.

Weve had seasons passes for years and love the entire Fernie resort. It is always either groomed or powder city so lot of fun. The hill is well maintained and very nice staff.

Fernie is an awesome hill. Its got a lot of terrain, steep long runs with technical features all over. Its considered a skiers hill because of the amount of traversing to access runs.

Fernie is incredible on powder days when they happen but seems to have trouble holding into its softer snow for any duration, leading to icy conditions a lot of the time.

The lack of terrain park, over priced tickets and slow lifts might scare you away - but the hype and community feel of the hill more than make up for this.

Expect an awesome experience.
