Fernie is a mountain I hope more people can experience. The amount of snow we got was insane. The variety of terrain kept things interesting. There was a good mix of beginner friendly trails and higher level blues/blacks. Definitely worth a visit if youre ever travelling to Calgary.

Always great snow and powder! Getting more and more busy over the years, but what resort isnt tons of variety in trails for all skill levels, including a bunny hill. The vibe is great overall, including nightlife and apres!

Fernie has some great terrain but most of it needs a lot of traversing and some familiarity to access. Its affordable compared to other resorts in the area and much more affordable than skiing in the US. If bluebird days and great visibility is important to you, then I probably would not recommend Fernie but the snow quality and tree runs are great.

Unreal terrain options when the snow is fresh, slack country and off piste was incredible. Some fun boot packs open up some quieter sections and fun tree runs. Some great little spots to eat in town too!

Fernie has been a part of me since I was little. I still remember learning the hidden routes on the hill, the comfort of the slopes, and the excitement when the snow fell. Guaranteed a great experience coming here

Went to Fernie ski resort in the end of December 2024, and I was impressed with quality of the snow, and so much powder! I loved Lizard bowl and Cedar bowl. Skiing was just amazing!

Excellent powder conditions! Big drop-off area and shuttles to parking lots.

Could use a more efficient pre-purchased lift ticket pickup. Perhaps kiosks that are open when hill opens. Our family waited 45min in line to pickup lift tickets when we had already purchased and completed waivers online. There were kiosk machine but they didnt have the opened until almost 10:30am. Unfortunate waste of time.

Love Fernie for the tree skiing, the fall line and the deep snow. Quaint resort away from the glitz . Just have to hit the season at the right time. Snow is either not a lot or a ton of it. The staff is great, no crazy lift lines highly recommend

Great hill if you are lucky and get a powder day. Last time I was there it was an epic powder day (30cm ), but can just as easily rain on you if your unlucky.

Over a seasons skiing/ boarding, Fernie is a powder paradise with very low crowds especially outside of school breaks, it has a wide range of terrain from beginner to advanced and plenty of expert/extreme in bounds terrain including chutes and mandatory drops. The grooming is sub par 90% of the time as most of the
Terrain is ungroomed. In summary Fernie is great for everyone but a paradise for advanced and expert riders looking for fresh tracks and steep terrain

I grew up skiing at Fernie and it is by far my favourite ski hill. The ski school is fantastic for young kids, teaching them the foundational skills necessary. The lessons for both older kids and adults is fantastic, super friendly and knowledgeable instructors that help to improve your abilities. There are so many chair lifts to choose from, and plenty of groomed and ungroomed runs for riders to pick from. My favourite is the ungroomed run of the Bear Chair where lots of powder is found. The polar peak chair also provides a super cool experience with some of the best views Ive ever seen. There are plenty of ski in/out accommodations that my family normally stays in, and theyve all been pretty good but our favourite is Lizard Creek Lodge. There isnt too much for the terrain park but with plenty of good runs, I hardly ever use the terrain park anyways. There are also some super fun tree runs, which I loved when i was younger and still love to this day. Some are more defined and theres signs, but some are also more hidden, both of which are fun. Overall, a great family resort that offers good skiing and powder.

Fernie is a great resort for all skiing and snowboarding abilities. It is a great mountain with its own unique vibe and character, while at the same time not being overcrowded or over-touristed like other resorts. The backcountry terrain is awesome and makes Fernie stand out. During major snow years, the conditions are incredible and allow you to ride areas you wouldn't be able to ride with less snow.
