Big White Review Summary

Big White attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from families with young children to advanced riders seeking powder and tree runs. The most consistent praise centres on champagne powder snow, minimal lift queues (especially midweek), extensive tree skiing, and a compact, family-friendly village with ski-in/ski-out accommodation. Reviewers frequently mention the resort's suitability for all ability levels, though several note that even green runs can be steep. The most common complaint is poor visibility during storms, earning it the nickname 'Big White-Out' among locals. Some reviews highlight limited nightlife and après-ski options compared to larger resorts, and a few mention higher prices for food and accommodation.

Big white is so rad. So many awesome runs and many different chairlifts to choose from. Family friendly but also great for an adults trip. Ski in and ski out all over the mountain and at the base the town is skiable as well. Love it there!

This has been my home resort for 10 years now, and it is the perfect resort for a place to ski that offers a little bit of everything, but nothing that is perfect. What I mean is this: if you want off-piste, there's a lot of good options, but they are not as extreme as other resorts in the area. If you want groomed runs, there's lots of options but you'll find better groomed runs elsewhere. If you want tree skiing, there's lots but it's not as good as a rival resorts. While other resorts are known for one specific type of skiing/riding, Big White has a little bit of everything for everyone, that no other place I've been to does. I think this makes it the perfect place to get the most skiing for your money. The biggest negatives are that it's often foggy, and the apres/nightlife is a little underwhelming. Otherwise, I would put this resort on any bucket list for it's diversity.

Loved out stay at Big White! A family of 5 with varying levels of ability and some boarders and some skiers...yet we could still all ski together and enjoy every run. Some of us tucked into the trees while others stayed in the groomed snow.

Village was cute and had quite a few food options. Wish there were more grocery options (or maybe more reasonable ones), but overall loved walking through the village to enjoy the social scene after a day on the mountain.

Only been to big white once, it's a big mountain with lots of terrain. There's lots of little spots that are great, but I would need more time to really explore the mountain. Overall, big white is a pretty good mountain, it's got a great village and some pretty good skiing to.

Big White is a really great resort. It was our first time there and trying snowboarding. It was so much fun. We got a lesson and did a couple runs. We were exhausted by the end and it was so nice staying at the hotel and enjoying the hottub for our aching bones. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent mountain! Plenty of runs for all levels, amazing tree runs and powder for more advanced boarders and skiers. Very family friendly and close to the village for a quick stop for lunch and back on the mountain. Lifts often stop and have issues however never long lines for lifts

Big white is a nice resort if you want to go for a fun nice relaxing weekend. With ski in and ski out cabins for rent all along the trails and other places. Plus the variety of different runs with different chairs as well is amazing for all different types of riders. Plus the free parking is quite a nice bonus.

I honestly dont think Ive had to wait more than 5 minutes in a ski line at big white at all. Maybe excluding opening day. They staff are very knowledgeable and very personable. Always looking forwards to giving out an open hand.

Great hills. Weather is critical..as white outside can hit hard. Great vibe.. awesome tree routes. Good lift service and well maintained. Great first aid/emergency crew... ask how we know :(

Will return.. wish there were more places to eat locally and a bit more space for apres ski beverages... but what are there are nice to chill at. Good condos for rent (pick your platform of choice). One hour away from Kelowna and neighbouring towns.. highway can get a bit dicey if weather is blooming..but an easy drive with upgrades underway.

Will return in a couple years... so many more places to go
Tips up!

Big White has consistently good snow conditions throughout the season, with a typically nice dry powder. This is a great family friendly resort with almost all accommodations on the hill being ski-in/ski-out. The lifts and runs are rarely crowded and the lift tickets are reasonably priced.

Big white was fun. Had a blast on the gem lake side, but getting back to the main area in a whiteout was a pain. Night laps on bullet express under the lights were fun. The village gondola is nice for getting around the village area if you are skiing or not.

Absolutely sick place for skiers and snowboarders alike 40 min away from a city with great night life and tons of activities not a small town. Mountain itself is pretty quiet other than weekends in season. Good school all levels teaching. Good gear and repairs and village. Good pass benefits and discounts. Mostly family oriented though so not much of a party vibe but that's what the city is for.

Lines aren't too bad especially compared to Whistler, if you get lucky with a powder day nothing to complain about. Always bring low light lenses for the white out days, top of T bar can be hazardous to be able to see anything. Falcon, Cliff, T-Bar, and Gem are my fav chairs as an advanced rider. I usually ride single blacks. Parachute bowl is favorite run. Def worth hiking top of cliff foe fish pow once parachute is skied out

Ridge/Snowghost is good but gets skied out super quick

Awesome hill for beginner to intermediate riders. Big white has lots of awesome terrain to offer, however it lacks in the advanced to expert category. Overall a fun, family oriented hill that will be sure to give you a good time.
