Big White Review Summary

Big White attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from families with young children to advanced riders seeking powder and tree runs. The most consistent praise centres on champagne powder snow, minimal lift queues (especially midweek), extensive tree skiing, and a compact, family-friendly village with ski-in/ski-out accommodation. Reviewers frequently mention the resort's suitability for all ability levels, though several note that even green runs can be steep. The most common complaint is poor visibility during storms, earning it the nickname 'Big White-Out' among locals. Some reviews highlight limited nightlife and après-ski options compared to larger resorts, and a few mention higher prices for food and accommodation.

At Big White, there was so much snow at the top of the mountain. It was a little more ridden at the bottom, but we still found some great powered and lines through some trees. Locals even apologized for the limited snow, even though it was the most snow I have seen all season! (Alberta resports have much less snow). There are a few spots where the trees are way too think and you need to exit them at a good time, otherwise you will have a bad day.

This mountain is great for a ski trip with the family or friends! Most of the terrain is easy/intermediate, but there are plenty of off-route tree runs to go down; there are infinite possibilities for unique runs in the glades. The airbnbs were very cheap at $200(CAD) per night, and I spent $300 on day passss for 3 days.

The top of the mountain was incredibly windy and foggy on the first day, and there was some fog on the last 2 days. Despite this, Id still rate this mountain 5 stars in enjoyment. The runs got pretty clear closer to the bottom.

I have been to almost every ski resort in British Columbia and Big White is by far the best! The mountain offers terrains for every level. The champagne powder is amazing on a powder day, and if it hasn't snow in a while the terrain still moves and is rarely icy. I continue to book a yearly trip with my family and friends to Big White for a great ski weekend. Overall this is the #1 BC mountain!

Loved it! Energy of village felt a bit black and white - either young partiers or families. Also, the village is not very big, wasn't the easiest to find a range of accommodation choices - those also seemed to reflect the young crowd vs. family crowd.

But beautiful mountain, easy to navigate. Staff was really helpful. Loved that there's a shuttle service to/from the airport. Worth the money, would go back for sure.

Absolutely LOVE big white. Amazing vibes and crazy conditions! Big enough to be spaced out enough from other people but small enough for a nice fam resort. Good vibes in the village as well. Stunning views. One of my favourite resorts

Big white was one of my groups and I favorite mountains. We stayed right on the hill and had our own little private drop in.
We found some amazing powder at the top and lots of creek/tree runs with great snow.
The lifts were always quick and we almost never had to wait.
Can't wait to go back

Big White is a great family resort with something for everyone! From amazing tree runs, fun park and gliding groomers, it's got something for everyone. Lift lines are minimal most days and the powder comes quick and fast with so much off piste to explore! The whole town is ski in ski out and always has activities for the families plus a great night life for those that want to party. It really is the all rounder of mountains that everyone needs to tick off their list atleast once in their lifetime.

Big White is a great resort to ski with family. The on mountain accommodations make for great skiing opportunities with the ability to take breaks. The ski school is very value priced for families and they do an excellent job teaching beginners. The chance to night ski lets you have a full day skiing from first run to last. The restaurants in the village have many delicious offerings and places to eat with kids. Great place to ski.

Big White is a fantastic option in the Okanagan. It's not the largest resort but it has everything you need and the terrain is incredible. Visibility can be limited at times but it's one of my favourite hills when it's clear! Kelowna is only a short drive away.

Is a large hill. Mostly flat, but does have some challenging terrain. Unfortunately it is frequently foggy. The village isnt easy to get around in but has decent amenities. All in all it is a good hill worth the visit if its not in the clouds.

Big white is an awesome resort whether you are beginner or advanced. The ski school will get you snowboarding and/or skiing in no time. Everything is ski in ski out so no pesky car rides or bus rides up the mountain everyday, you have everything you need right on the mountain. Big white also boasts some of the best powder in Canada! The weekends and over the holidays can get very busy, but there is always quite hidden stash if your ready to explore.

Big White is where my partner and I have season passes and we always have such a fun time! The terrain is diverse, and the resort gets great snow. It also has mild temperatures so your toes dont freeze off! The apres is also very fun to follow your ski day.

Honestly this is not one of my favourite resort. Its crowded, lots of out of control snowboarders and people arent as pleasant compared to the other resorts Ive been. Theres just too many snowboarders and Im afraid of them. We stayed halfway between Kelowna and the resort in this beautiful log cabin with horses as neighbours. Our lovely accommodation was the only good thing on the trip.
