Big White Review Summary

Big White attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from families with young children to advanced riders seeking powder and tree runs. The most consistent praise centres on champagne powder snow, minimal lift queues (especially midweek), extensive tree skiing, and a compact, family-friendly village with ski-in/ski-out accommodation. Reviewers frequently mention the resort's suitability for all ability levels, though several note that even green runs can be steep. The most common complaint is poor visibility during storms, earning it the nickname 'Big White-Out' among locals. Some reviews highlight limited nightlife and après-ski options compared to larger resorts, and a few mention higher prices for food and accommodation.

Great snow, great resort for all levels. Awesome on resort accommodation options which offer loads of opportunity to ski in / out throughout the day. Mountain is relatively easy to get around for all levels of experience. Make sure to plan for at least 3 days to experience it all!

I lived and worked at the resort last season - it was awesome. Can get busy at times but nowhere near Whistler levels. Has some awesome black runs and off piste terrain (looking at the cliff and eagle chairs) and the tree runs over at gem lake are just divine. When they get powder, they get powder - it's amazing.

this resort is perfect for a family vacation or staying with some friends. Meaning it's a good blend between easy runs, a great snow school and an awesome apres scene too. Occasional good powder, but can get quite busy.

Our hotel room was spacious 2bedroom with our own hot tub 2 bathrooms ski in and ski out resort. Was so easy to get around to stores and restaurants. My kids couldn't stop riding. There's also a gym, pool and games room. Also its own theater that played something everyday at 5pm. Bingo on TuesdayIce skating rink that was huge and well taken care of. It's magical there, we want to move to BIG WHITE SKI RESORT

I really enjoyed skiing at Big White for the two winters that I lived in Kelowna. It is a very approachable hill, but also has some challenging runs in the trees and notably, the Cliff. Consistently good snow. A majority of the runs felt very wide, so even with many people there on weekends, there was always plenty of room to ski.

Family ski resort with little apres. Quiet runs with some excellent off piste. Rarely any waiting for lifts other than peak holidays or weekends, even then there is not much waiting around. Excellent ski school with quality instructors. Slightly pricey for food and there is a lack of real apres - only Sam's which in my opinion isn't very good. Would recommend Big White to anyone who wants a quiet ski resort with not much apres or party scene

I went to Big White and we loved our stay and riding the mountain! The mountain was easy to ride (for me being a beginner), and we got hot chocolate in the lodge after.

Plenty of options on the hill but it is a bit easy to get lost and I would say going all the way up the mountain is not beginner snowboard friendly. A lot of the green runs can get pretty flat and can be difficult to traverse unless you are experienced enough to be comfortable at a faster speed or you are on skis with poles. The weather can change quickly and it can be quite windy on the mountain. If it is cold enough with added windchill, the staff will refuse to let you higher up the mountain unless you have a mask or something to protect your face from frost bite. I had a mask but still ended up getting frost nip on my cheek one time. Positives are that dining and food on the hill is some of the best I've ever had. Accommodations are convenient.

Went night skiing with my fiancé and her family at big white. Gorgeous runs, beautiful trees, great restaurants. Well worth the money. The night skiing was a magically romantic experience.
The pow pow was amazingggg. Good beginner runs for my finances mom, who is not a confident skier. But also amazing runs for advanced boarders or skiers as well.

Loved it so much I had my bachelor party on the slopes as well

Accommodation is pricey but worth it for the slip side views and ski-in ski-out. Many restaurant options for such a small mountain resort. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The snow quality is sensational and the resort is so big its easy to find a quiet run.
