Big White Review Summary

Big White attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from families with young children to advanced riders seeking powder and tree runs. The most consistent praise centres on champagne powder snow, minimal lift queues (especially midweek), extensive tree skiing, and a compact, family-friendly village with ski-in/ski-out accommodation. Reviewers frequently mention the resort's suitability for all ability levels, though several note that even green runs can be steep. The most common complaint is poor visibility during storms, earning it the nickname 'Big White-Out' among locals. Some reviews highlight limited nightlife and après-ski options compared to larger resorts, and a few mention higher prices for food and accommodation.

1 hr from an Airport. Lots on on hill accommodation. This place stands out as family friendly. The terrain is varied. More intermediate than anything. The resort is quite high. So snow quality can be and often is excellent!

We have been to Big White on two separate occasions. It is a great resort with lots of variety of runs and a nice village! It is definitely more family oriented than other resorts such as Whistler - there is not a lot of night life or Apres Ski here. However, the restaurants are all amazing and there is lots to do. The glades are awesome as is the cliff. Lots of beginner options but also lots of intermediate and advanced options to challenge yourself! Overall a great resort and we will likely return:)

Big White is where I grew up skiing and I didnt realize how lucky that was until I had the good fortune of skiing at most of BCs resorts. Definitely one of North Americas best.

I started skiing in big white às a complete beginner but after two days of lessons I was on my way on the mountain, and I must say, what a mountain, a gigantic footprint with a well thought out lift system, green runs of every lift and a handful of challenging terrain too, but where big white shines is on its intermediate terrain, half of the resort is awesome groomed blue runs. The after is also great, with live music some select days, paired with delicious music.

Ski in ski out is an amazing bonus for me. Skiing was real good, had one bluebird day which was spectacular and 2 snow days with one day of great powder. Highly recommend for families.

Ive been leaving in bigwhite since the beggining of the season. So far Ive been loving it! The village have everything you need, from market, to cafe, to pubs and good restaurants. Its a very family friendly resort with day care for kids and entertainment every weekend. The runs are just the best. There are around 15lifts so its never really packed in the mountain. Youll never get bored. Its an amazing resort to spend a ski day or the entire season without even having to go to Kelowna once!

We have been going to Big White annually for 6 years for a week from Ontario. It is a perfect place for riders of all levels, families, couples and nightlife. Theres a little bit for everyone. The village is great for food options and other activities. We stay at copper kettle and we will likely continue to go back annually.

I have been at big white the last two seasons and it has been an amazing experience every time Ive been up, some tips are Black Forest lodge/ chair lift is much less foggy on those days. Weekends can tend to fill up the mountain but weekdays are quite empty making it very nice for some calm riding
