Big White Review Summary

Big White attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from families with young children to advanced riders seeking powder and tree runs. The most consistent praise centres on champagne powder snow, minimal lift queues (especially midweek), extensive tree skiing, and a compact, family-friendly village with ski-in/ski-out accommodation. Reviewers frequently mention the resort's suitability for all ability levels, though several note that even green runs can be steep. The most common complaint is poor visibility during storms, earning it the nickname 'Big White-Out' among locals. Some reviews highlight limited nightlife and après-ski options compared to larger resorts, and a few mention higher prices for food and accommodation.

Great resort, lots of fresh snow and relatively small lift lines compared to whistler. Go to snowshoe Sam's in the village for great apres!

A big mountain but lots of whiteout conditions for the 5 days we were there. Much sunnier at Silver Star.

Some good options for restaurants but found them pricey for the quality of food.

Location to Kelowna airport is great.

Blue bird days are deadly at Big White, travel is easy from Kelowna, they do need a new lift to the very top, the T bar is not cutting it

Great ski resort. Management has shifted it into a money milking machine. Great sidecountry acess and champagne powder makes it great to get fresh powder almost every visit.

Really enjoyed our visit to big white. It was my first time skiing in Canada, and although I would still say the apres in the Alps is unbeaten, the snow quality in biggie was insane so I would highly recommend for anyone looking for great powder days (even if you have to battle through a white out it’s worth it!).

Always have a great time at Big White. On the bluebird days, it’s unreal but foggy days are still a blast. Might just have a couple less runs and check out the many great restaurants and bars on the hill.

First time at Big White in February this year. Awesome resort white great runs, great snow, quality runs and super efficient lifts. Hardly ever had to wait in lift lines (even during Family Day). Ski in/out are awesome. Ski right into the village for great apres options, will definitely be returning! Highly recommend now

Such a fun ski resort! Very family friendly especially around the holidays. Good varied terrain and plenty of off piste options. Head over to gem lake for the best runs. Can get busy off bullet chair.
