Big White Review Summary

Big White attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from families with young children to advanced riders seeking powder and tree runs. The most consistent praise centres on champagne powder snow, minimal lift queues (especially midweek), extensive tree skiing, and a compact, family-friendly village with ski-in/ski-out accommodation. Reviewers frequently mention the resort's suitability for all ability levels, though several note that even green runs can be steep. The most common complaint is poor visibility during storms, earning it the nickname 'Big White-Out' among locals. Some reviews highlight limited nightlife and après-ski options compared to larger resorts, and a few mention higher prices for food and accommodation.

Big White has something for everyone. It has many green and blue runs for new skiers and kids but also a lot of advanced runs for experienced skiers/riders. The village has a great vibe with many restaurants to choose from. Just one hour from a major airport (Kelowna) it will not disappoint.

Had a great time at Big White - consistent snowfall, great groomers and trees with a huge lift accessed area and plenty of spots to find pow, even days after storms. Rarely ever any crowd so wait times are always short. Options limited for apres and dining but available options are top tier. Will definitely return.

The powder on this mountain is absolutely amazing, on my snowboard I move around like butter. My absolute favourite is the park, the jumps are labeled S,M,L,XL so you know what to expect and they’re groomed to perfection!

Love this mountain we do our annual ski holiday here after discovering it a few years ago. Amazing skiing and boarding, top level park, great tree runs and easy to navigate. Has EVERYTHING you could need and want. Great for all levels and just enough of a village for everything you need. Close enough to Kelowna for a big shop before arriving

Big white is an awesome family oriented resort with a small villiage to walk around, countless other activities do to (snowmobiling, hiking, tubing…) and great food places. Usually the resort has lots of fresh powder to ski through, although this season has been running short. Loft lines are awesome, all through Christmas and new years the longest I waited in line was only 7-10 minutes. I highly recommend visiting big white in Kelowna!

Good bunny hills. One of the more afforable hills. Stunning views. Close to a decent airport. Way better than dealing with the other touristy hills.

Big White gets a ton of snow, making for great glade skiing . The trees at the top are usually snow packed making for picturesque “ snow ghosts”.

Big white offers good lessons and packages to get started for under $200. The have lots of on mountain accommodation and the village is pretty nice for pictures even if you don’t stay there. The gondola is free, do you could get laps without lift ticket I suppose.
