Big White Review Summary

Big White attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from families with young children to advanced riders seeking powder and tree runs. The most consistent praise centres on champagne powder snow, minimal lift queues (especially midweek), extensive tree skiing, and a compact, family-friendly village with ski-in/ski-out accommodation. Reviewers frequently mention the resort's suitability for all ability levels, though several note that even green runs can be steep. The most common complaint is poor visibility during storms, earning it the nickname 'Big White-Out' among locals. Some reviews highlight limited nightlife and après-ski options compared to larger resorts, and a few mention higher prices for food and accommodation.

Absolutely love Biggie! While its not the largest resort, its so much fun to ride. The value for money is miles ahead of whistler blackcomb and its quieter, meaning you spend less time in lift lines. Theres always good powder and some fun jumps along the tree line. Plus if you get the day pass, it includes night riding for free.

A local discount should be offered. Discounted tickets or rain checks for terrible weather and visibility which is frequent at this resort. Great food good atmosphere!

Ive been to Big White 3 times- the pow never disappoints! Would love to go again, especially for the good food and village vibe, but mainly for the professional and serious slopes they have. PS the tubing was always hilarious!

Beautiful family friendly resort. This mountain offers tubing, horse rides through the forest, open air ice rink, a massive lodge with family events each evening. The village is small but has everything you need. The only downside is that it desperately needs a family friendly affordable hotel that includes a pool and breakfast. :)

Good selection of hills. Gem stone side was my favourite. More options for beginners on the other side. A bit confusing to get from lift to lift but not too bad. Ski shop staff is very friendly and helpful.

Great family friendly resort all around. Cliff is a must on a powder day. Accommodation options can be limited if you dont book well in advance. Same goes for dining options. Just make sure you plan ahead!

Depending on snow and winds some areas of the mountain may not be ski-able until later in the season e.g gem lake mostly affected by this. But plenty to explore

Big White is the best all-around mountain for a trip with your sweetie or with your crewThe terrain is so good for all levels of riders, the runs are wide so even on busy days you don't feel like it's packed, plus it's easy to get to different areas to stay away from crowds and in some champagne pow if desiredAprès-ski is pretty mellow compared to other resorts in this price range but you have great accommodations, many ski-in-ski-out options so I say don't let that deter you and if anything splurge on a place with a personal hot tub instead
