Alta Badia is a lovely resort, and a great gateway into the Sella Ronda. It's quieter, and cheaper, but still close enough and well connected to the main lifts and slopes, so you can stay closer to the resort or easily venture further into the main Sella Ronda runs in only 30 minutes. However, the eating out options were very limited if you did not want to eat at the hotel, and it gets very quiet as it's off the main circuit, so depends on the vibe you are going for. The ski domain it gives you access to is vast, with lots of nice wide runs and gorgeous views, so perfect for medium level skiers, and we got nice weather which meant the runs were very accessible and well kept, not much ice and good snow.

We had a wonderful time in the heart of The Dolomites. Amazing scenery and conditions. The food is the best and there is much for non-skiers as well. I'm never going anywhere else. Groomed pistes are a delight with a comprehensive and rapid lift system.

Great pistes and short lift queues, not the longest runs in the world but when queues are short it doesn’t matter as much. Not much off piste to be explored.

Outside of skiing food and drink scene is fantastic, potentially the best out of any resort I have been to.

We did the whole Sella Ronda but Covara where we were based in Alta Badia has so much more to offer than just the 'motorways' round the Sella Ronda. Its own slopes are less crowded and you can ski for many miles on uncrowded slopes. The interconnected lift systems are wonderful and no need to take drag lifts. On mountain food very good and fairly reasonably priced.

Our favourite place to ski even though we usually stay in Selva, Val Gardena.
Beautiful slopes and huttes to die for - Try La Marmotta, but do book to avoid dissapointment.

We go every year and everyone is always so friendly and welcoming. The slopes are sometimes a bit icy and have mogules which can make it really tricky to ski though. There’s a kid section which is really fun as well

We stayed in Alleghe which is further out from the Dolomiti SuperSki but cheaper by far! At this time of year the slopes were a bit icy and my snowboarding husband was missing the powder off pistes but - for the time of year and our budget the 4 days in Alleghe and 2 days anywhere in Dolomiti SuperSki was perfect - we took cheap public transport to another resort and joined the sellaronde to Alta Badia and Marmalada. Beautiful views but quiet in the evenings.

Alta Badia is a magical place. I have been visiting and skiing since I was 3 years old, and I started snowboarding when I was 14. I have explored most of the slopes with my Dolomiti Superski pass. It is the best place on the planet and a lot of fun!

Great family friendly ski area, over looking the beautiful Dolomites. frequent ski lifts. parking can be difficult when there are professional sports events on. Lots of sun which is nice but can make the slopes very icy. Beer and alcohol is cheap. Could be better food options for non-meat eaters at the restaurants. Over all a lovely resort in the Italian Dolomites.

The rush of the Gran Risa is unparalleled - what a run, bucket list. Dramatic scenery, amazing food and people. The park is insane and you go over it on the lift, as much of a spectator sport even if not your vibe. Amore

Best place to stay on the Sella Ronda for easy access to the whole of the Dolomiti Superski area. Wide variety of slopes, especially easier blues & reds for the less confident. Great hotels & food. Quieter nightlife.

My favourite area to ski. Stayed in Corvara which was ideally located to access the Sella Ronda in both directions as well as going off in other directions. As there is a choice of gondolas and lifts out of Corvara if one is queuing you can easily choose a different area. We were there two weeks and still didn’t get to all the areas our lift pass covered. Our hotel (Greif) was lovely and provided a shuttle to/from the lifts although it was walkable too. We were half board and food was good (South Tyrolean). Did not look to be that many options to eat out in the resort, but Mountain restaurants were also good. Highly recommend and definitely want to return.

My 2nd time in Selva. We arrived for the last week of January.
They'd been a shortage of fresh snowfall on the run up, so we were unsure of what to expect.
Evenso the slopes were managed and pisted superbly.
The resort has plenty of snow canons, and they made the most of them.

It's a massive ski area. Plenty of variety. Suitable for all levels.

The lift system in the main is modern, with very few older chairs or buttons.

There's no shortage of restaurants on the hills, and reasonably priced.
(It's not France).

Once you've got the 1st gondaler or chair of the day, you're away .

After a good days skiing, the bars are very conveniently placed at the bottom of the last runs.

There's something for everyone.

Whether you want to chill, or you're up for a wild couple of hours, there's something for everyone.

Also, there's no shortage of authentic Italian restaurants.

They get busy, so I'd recommend booking if your a group.

Overall a great ski area. Picturesque villages, friendly and accommodating folk.

My favourite ski area, and I wouldn't hesitate to return
