Alta Badia attracts primarily intermediate and advanced skiers who consistently praise the well-groomed pistes, efficient modern lift system, and access to the Sella Ronda circuit. The resort is part of the Dolomiti Superski area, offering extensive terrain variety and spectacular mountain scenery. Reviewers regularly highlight excellent on-mountain dining with good value compared to other European resorts, though evening restaurant options in some villages are limited. Lots of brilliant runs in this classy resort. Excellent lift service but the resort is pricey but well worth it.

Best long slopes, and modern ski lifts, stunning surrounding views. Mostly Italian people around which means peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere, with elite people access to the slopes due to the costly area. Festive apre ski in the old town in Canazei, with direct access from the slopes end.

We stayed in Colfosco and skied all around the area including the sella ronda.

It was the first time I have skied in Italy and I was very impressed. Great snow over a wide variety of piste, including some lovely tree lined runs. Also lovely to be able to ski between so many interconnected resorts.

Lots of food and drink options on the slopes all great value and good character. We stayed half board as I think many do, so perhaps not lots of restaurants in Colfosco itself for evening meals.

We used a local guide who was fantastic.

Overall highly recommended

On the Sella Ronda, a fantastic ski circuit, Alta Badia offers spectacular scenery you expect from being in the Dolomites, with snow sure and interesting terrain. Apparently the regions snow-making facilities are world class, which means that even early in the season/over Christmas, the snow conditions were brilliant.
With easy access to the Sella Ronda, the routes and ski options are endless. Lots of fabulous mountain restaurants with a great atmosphere.

Alta Badia is part of Dolomiti Super Ski which is a wonderful group of ski resorts! These resorts are connected by the Sella Ronda which allows you to ski a 22mile circle through the various resorts which include Val Gardena, Arraba etc. skiing the Sella Ronda is a wonderful experience. There are numerous places to eat throughout it. The Sella Ronda, can be done in either direction. It can be completed by a competent intermediate and enjoyed by advanced skiers who may choose more difficult descents. The two main routes are well marked but a guide can be helpful. We loved our trip to this area and I highly recommend it. By the way the food is excellent!!

Amazing resort
Alta badia has everything, off piste, powder zones, tree lines, a great terrain park, great groomers and moguls
What makes alta badia great is that it is a part of Dolomites super ski, which is like 10 or so linked resorts (more expensive ski pass) so if you ever get bored of alta badia (highly doubt it), you can explore the others
The sells ronda is a ski route that is great for families and experience skiers, where either clockwise or anticlockwise is a easier or harder route,
The dolomitic super ski area is great, not cheap though

Alta Badia is one of the most breath taking beautiful parts of the world. With a wide variety of runs, of all varying colours and abilities, there is something for everyone in this slice of Italian heaven. Having always gone as part of a family group, there is something much opportunity for all ski abilities to to enjoy, there is a good variety of small, baby and beginner slopes to help the novices hone in their skills, fun parks for all to have some laughs on, and a great amount of challenging, interesting and different runs for the more experienced rider to relish. One of the highlights of the trip when we have been is tackling the Sella Ronda, a navigational challenge following a route of runs and lifts to traverse around the majestic Mt Sella. Alta Badia is fantastic for off piste attractions too. With lost of characterful eateries, bars and villages in each town, there always a good place to take a beat, fill up and stretch off. The selection of food in the area is varied, and delicious, with Austria a few miles north, there is a great variety of Austro-Italian cuisine, not very often you see Pork Schnitzel, and handmade ravioli in the same menu, but you do in Alta Badia, and it makes for a wonderful eating experience.

Whether you are an experienced rider, its your first time on the mountain, or youre in a group with a wide variety of skill and experience. Youll not go wrong booking a trip to Alta Badia in the beautiful South Tyrol region of the Italian Dolomites.

Dolomiti Superski Alta Badia is by far my favorite European resort. From high tech chairlifts to variety of ski runs to beautiful peaks and scenery of Dolomiti mountains to endless dining choices you wont be disappointed. We stayed in Alta Badia and skied/snowboarded around Sella Ronda for a week. This area is covered by IKON pass, so we didnt have to buy tickets. Dining is very inexpensive compared to USA resort. So are the accommodations. Snow conditions were better at higher elevations. We went end of February.

We have stayed in La Villa several times and have loved every time. The atmosphere, ski area and general feel of the area all make it so much more than just a regular ski area. We have now started going with our young son and the ski school and crèche are superb.

There are too many flat or up-hill pistes. On-piste signage is very confusing. Sella Ronda is very busy.

I went for the first time in the 2022/2023 season. Although I went quite early on, almost all the runs were open as well as some terrain parks and there was regular snowfall every couple of days.

There are restaurants dotted all over the resort and it is very beginner-friendly with mostly blue and red runs. It is also linked to the Sellaronda, which takes you around 2-3 mountains through different resorts over the course of about half a day.

For the more advanced skiers, there are several black runs available, including the World Cup Gran Risa piste and a tricky glacier nearby.

The lifts and slopes were also very well operated and, even on busy days like Christmas, the queue time was relatively short. The local instructors are also fantastic, many having been former racers with plenty of experience.

Overall, a gem of a resort.
