It was the first time I have skied in Italy and I was very impressed. Great snow over a wide variety of piste, including some lovely tree lined runs. Also lovely to be able to ski between so many interconnected resorts.
Lots of food and drink options on the slopes all great value and good character. We stayed half board as I think many do, so perhaps not lots of restaurants in Colfosco itself for evening meals.
We used a local guide who was fantastic.
Overall highly recommended
With easy access to the Sella Ronda, the routes and ski options are endless. Lots of fabulous mountain restaurants with a great atmosphere.
Alta badia has everything, off piste, powder zones, tree lines, a great terrain park, great groomers and moguls
What makes alta badia great is that it is a part of Dolomites super ski, which is like 10 or so linked resorts (more expensive ski pass) so if you ever get bored of alta badia (highly doubt it), you can explore the others
The sells ronda is a ski route that is great for families and experience skiers, where either clockwise or anticlockwise is a easier or harder route,
The dolomitic super ski area is great, not cheap though
Whether you are an experienced rider, its your first time on the mountain, or youre in a group with a wide variety of skill and experience. Youll not go wrong booking a trip to Alta Badia in the beautiful South Tyrol region of the Italian Dolomites.
We are going back yet again to our favourite ski in ski out hotel in Corvara next February
Cant wait!!!
Groomers are nice, apres is alright.
Really nice terrain park, some freeride options
There are restaurants dotted all over the resort and it is very beginner-friendly with mostly blue and red runs. It is also linked to the Sellaronda, which takes you around 2-3 mountains through different resorts over the course of about half a day.
For the more advanced skiers, there are several black runs available, including the World Cup Gran Risa piste and a tricky glacier nearby.
The lifts and slopes were also very well operated and, even on busy days like Christmas, the queue time was relatively short. The local instructors are also fantastic, many having been former racers with plenty of experience.
Overall, a gem of a resort.
