What Skiers Say About Val Thorens
Val Thorens attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with many praising its high altitude for snow reliability throughout the season. The resort is part of the Three Valleys, offering extensive terrain and well-maintained pistes with efficient lifts and minimal queuing. Après-ski is consistently highlighted as lively and energetic, with popular venues like Folie Douce and Bar 360, though some note it caters more to a younger, party-focused crowd. Most accommodation is ski-in/ski-out, and reviewers appreciate the variety of runs, though several mention that food and drinks are expensive. Beginners note limited green runs and that many blues can be challenging or icy, while advanced skiers praise off-piste options and access to neighbouring valleys.

Lifts connect superbly and most runs finish in the town. We had a ski in ski out chalet, but also used the bus, which was short, ran every 15/20 mins and was never too busy.
Easter skiing, slopes were pretty empty despite the fab dump of snow. Theres just plenty of runs for everyone.
Great family resort, and party resort, covers off everything. Food on slopes wonderful and plenty of apre. We have all decided to go back again next year!
Over to Orelle there is one beautiful long, empty run
Quite expensive especially as you get over to Courchevel way.
Most places are ski-in ski-out but food and drinks are on the more expensive end.
There is plenty of opportunity to do some off piste adventuring as well as an ice cave you can ski through.
The frog pub is worth a visit as it's the highest pub in Europe.
Prices can get expensive for food and drink. Consider going half board with a kitchen for snacks
With some great by the side of the piste powder !
Best night life in the alps
Top place for a season
If staying in Val Thorens, dont forget to explore the hidden Valley Orelle. For a perfect morning when the sun is shining head into Orelle to experience what this little gem has to offer.
Val Thorens is very much a party resort which makes it attract many British and Irish universities for annual ski trips. Everyone has heard of La Folie Douche, but the number 1 Apres ski location is Bar 360. Situated in a location closer to resort, it is preferred for skiers/boarders for the easier route home.
I would recommend this resort and will be back!
Village is purpose built but has a little charm. Everything you need. Good nightlife. Great massive ski area. No tree lined runs but you can ski to rest of 3 valleys where there are trees.
Goods lifts, easy to get around.
Great for lads lasses and family's!!
